      It's a nice thing to have! You can still use your factory locks as well! They work very well, and the signal strength is close to a newer car!

    Really nice to see this on an older vehicle. The shots in the door are really helpful. I'm thinking about putting one in a 1978 Ford Transit camper van I am fixing up.

    As to the unlock and lock being reversed for you it also is based on which way your actuator is pointing up or down.

      You can install it on anything, if you get creative with how to place the actuator for the right mechanics!

    Just did an install on my 98 Mazda MX-5 including trunk release (you need a relay in order for the trunk to open)

      That's interesting! Did you figure out why it needed a relay for that? I've only ever installed this kit on a 2 door.

      @@JakeHarrington That keyless entry only have one blue wire for the trunk, while the locks on the doors have to + and ground, I asume that the box cant deliver that much output, so the blue is just a signal for the relay to open / close the circut to the boot accurator, just installed on my Mazda MX-5 doors and trunk

    Loose wire is the receiver and brown / white are for adding a switch

      It was a cheap kit, but it still works really good today! Range is awesome too. I can unlock it from from quite far away!

    This is 100% legit, and most modern aftermarket alarms even have the output signal available. If they do you can DIY a kit for less than 15 bucks.
    The only limit would be that it's not later era where the lock mech has security guards built in/around it. Late 90s onward roughly. No room for the universal actuators.
    I found out the hard way.

      @@lol-bg4wh You have to pull the interior door trims off and look at the lock actuator. If you can see it and it has a long straight section that you can mount the plunger style actuator near than you can. You can also try looking at the stock parts for the door lock actuator to see what they look like. If they look anything like the universal plunger style they might work. Good luck.

      It's possible to install this kit on nearly anything, as long as you can get creative, and find a place to mount the actuators.

      Due to the different ignition switches/wiring in different vehicles, it's hard to say that a remote start will work on "any" vehicle. What vehicle are you working on? I'll see what I can do, to help!

    What did you use to mount the actuators in the door? I want to do this in my truck but I want it to be nice and not look half-assed.

      The kit includes some mounting hardware. Mine was directly incline with my lock mechanism, so I just screwed it through the side of the door. You can form the hardware to fit just about anywhere.

      I don't! There are a few options out there. How many wires would you need to run to your doors. If everything is mechanical, there is a braided hose style that's very clean looking!

    hey i installed this today but there’s one problem. whenever i lock the doors it automatically unlocks it right after do you know what this could be?

      Sounds like it may be a wiring issue! Or, the way the actuators are placed. If they don't have full travel, it could cause them to unlock after being locked

      The mounting hardware came with the kit, but I used a small bolt, for the time being. I plan on grinding a bevel into the metal, so I small screw, can fit flush, and clean against the door.

    I have a question..... do the doors stay unlocked while the car is in motion? Or is there a way to unlock 1 door while the others are locked (asking for a 1971 jeep wagoneer) . Thanks and thats a great truck

      You can lock the doors while the car is in motion! You can set this up to work just like a new vehicle! There are two fobs, and an extra wire from the harness, so you can install an interior switch if you wanted to!

      I'm sure it can be done, but I didn't mess with it yet. It has a blank, that would probably work, but I just use the standard key for now.
