I like the fact that you are honest with people and tell them they have to do the work themselves because people really think you go from taking a class to earning $100,000 a year🤔
I have to be honest because there are too many lies out here going around lol
Yes she's right. As I'm closing in on age 40 i see all these folks younger than me much further in life than i am, makes me feel like im falling behind not a good feeling. But maybe I've had the wrong perspective....
Just keep your head down and put in the work. You still have time
1000% percent true like HD said 6 months of continuous consistent grind can literally change your life entering the tech field is the biggest hurdle !!
I'm older than you and I just started my first I.T. fundamentals class, comp tia itf+. I procrastinated for a long time because of fear and my age. But I have to start somewhere. You can do it! You have nothing to lose.
thanks for the encouragement@@lonebutterfly38
Technology wasn't as advanced when we were in highschool so don't feel bad because everyone's kid now is a straight "A" student due to GOOGLE 😂 but we had to actually research the answer. It's just easier now making online money 💰🤑
She technically got a point you’re not making 500K BASE unless you’re like a executive in tech, tech sales , L4 software engineer , sales engineer, or over employment
Yep only the real ones will tell you how they make their bread
@@TechTualChatter that’s true brother, definitely going to book with you soon got some good questions for you lol .
@@aceszn9766 say less. I’ll be here 💪🏽💪🏽
I figured this when I was researching Analytics careers.Where you can work for a company and do data brokering on the side and it doesnt happen over night. They build up and in the second year they see those figures
L4 sde at Amazon not touching 500k you’d have to be like a L10 lol
Excellent video - I completely agree with the comments about the false narrative. Job stacking is not a formula for long term sucess. It would end up being a 24x7 nightmre. Dont believe the hype about quick and easy salary growth.. Put the work in.. Really learn your craft.. Earn your success.
Well said!
A lot of tech companies are looking for people who already have "experience", if you are just starting out, you definitely have to network and do a lot of projects at home to show you truly understand the program of choice, platform, infrastructure etc.. 90 days is not for everyone. You definitely need a 2nd and 3 Rd skill set to fall back on.
💡💡💡💡💡
Yeah my 5 years as a project manager mean nothing at this point it equals to having no experience. Trying to start over now this is ludicrous
@tercial move into technical project management
I was under your comments in a previous video--very informative
Thank you ❤️
Appreciate the content you share and on a side note, everyone's included in people who can't drive in Dallas!!! 🤣
Lol naw I can drive 😂😂😂
Your network is your net worth
Facts!
This is a great video, glad to see my sisters are getting into tech. I just started a PhD in computer science.
Sheesh PhD !!
Congrats on future success though bro
PhD in comp sci - what inspired you to do it?
Good interview… gave a lot tips that will help me with networking. I like the one you use to think of it like your talking to girls you win some you lose some
Man I’m telling you it super simple
I thought those Indian recruiters were scammers after they asked for my last four? I check their websites and they are so remedial for them to be "professional" most emails don't match the "company's" domain at all.
This podcast is so good I'm hooked. 👍🏽 Thanks for putting the sista's on the front line continuously.
❤️❤️❤️
And yeah it can get draining dealing with them
Those issues where someone needs something but has no idea what it is, how it works or who to even contact are low key the best ones 😂😂😂
This was a great interview
Thank you ❤️❤️
good info
Thanks. What was your biggest takeaway?
Fantastic interview! When I was in management, I was surprised at how bad people interview. A lot of times I look at people soft skills and if they're teachable. But soon I'll be the interviewee, lol. ✊🏿
Thanks
Honestly just takes work and you’ll get it
This is an amazing episode!!! I’m halfway through and I have a question about certifications.
Background : I am 4 courses from my BBA in Marketing and I have 5+ years in videography and social media management but I want to go into a more digital marketing role( email campaign, payperclicks, ads) and a UX /UI designer.. so a Digital Marketer + UX/UI desginer.
Long term goal into a PM
I wanted to know how do we put the certificate ( Ex: google and/ or even the UX and UI certificate from Google ) on our resume?
Ex: Biz Capital
Social media manager
Ex : UX/UI desginer
Project- Do we make up a project name since it’s not a company?
Or if I did the Google certification for ADs, do I run my own and then put it under projects or experiences?
It’s better off listed as a project bs experience
Facts big facts
💪🏽💪🏽

Cut looking fresh
Yeah man my barber put me in there
What do you think about software support as your first job in IT. Is supporting a proprietary technology gonna set me back vs a “traditional” helpdesk job
As long as you gain some skills is the key

I co-sign this. It offers a lot of learning opportunities and can give you an idea of what direction you want to further specialize your career in. I'm software support right now but am working to move in another direction.

People have been so scared to say this about the recruiters!
😂😂😂😂
Getting warmer.. :)
What does this mean?
@@TechTualChatter warmer as in closer to the type of subject matter our community needs, in regards to I.T.
@@princemarkied8071 gotcha
Well we discuss things like this alot
Had me at Bachelor degree in theology…
Unless they are doing multiple contracts…. That’s the only way
I must have missed a toxic tech Twitter moment BTB just streamed bout this lol
well this was recorded like two weeks ago lol
I need to transition into IT project coordinator or entry-level project management. I need help with understanding all my cross transferable skills. I am in school for cyber security but I also have my entry level project management certification (CAPM). I need all the services to help me pivot. Any recommendations
Check out UDeserveIT for the game
You need to network. I have 5 years experience in project management with contracts at tech giants like Google, and Meta and even bank of America but still get ghosted.
I'll give you some advice try your best to get your foot in the door as an intern even if its as an analyst. I wish you luck in this market because its not forgiving
why do you need?
That’s so funny because I immediately block any Indian recruiter that contacts me either by email or by phone. 😂
I’m 💀
HIT THAT 👍👍👍
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Salary: I saw a couple interviews where one black couple working in cloud were making $160k. Another Indian couple working in cloud the young husband made $300k and the wife made $400. Im trying to figure the skill difference between the two. 🤔 I know people who get these salaries but I live in an area with a high salary median. But is this still a difference in ethnicity.
No I can saw, my first full-time UX job out of freelancing salary was high, but my non manager senior co-worker was making $200K. 🤷🏽♀️
The black couple was underpaid
And you also have to watch those Indians. They do a lot of job stacking too lol
👍🏽
Thanks for tuning in I appreciate you ❤️
@@TechTualChatter indeed
I had many Indian recruiters and I actually landed jobs through them not all are stealing information
That’s good! I think most of us have had bad experiences 😅😅
In the medical field some of us job stack the entire career, or nowadays take advantage of the large amount of overtime. So being over employed is not new. Job stacking and contracting as a business are for hustlers, if you don’t have that drive and stamina, then you are right those are not typical results. Let’s please make room for the hustlers in tech. So, let’s focus on what can be done, how to build stamina and work ethic. The ones that don’t have it, then they can be mediocre. Please don’t rain on our parade. I’m sorry, but no one wants to hear about what they can’t do or it’s too hard to do… Don’t get me wrong your podcast is great, but your guest this time. Hmmm.. Keep it up beat, yet real.
🤣🤣🤣 this is a wasteful comment.
This is video is moreso for newbies than people with established skill sets. Which is why we give them the honest trust truth
How bout you start your own show stating what can be done
Went to XTC they got bugs lol I was scared to sit down
Lmao word???
The club I was talking about was vlive
@@TechTualChatter Didnt get to try that place out. We saw the place from the highway we were like we should go there its not that bad but yeah. when I come back i gotta check them out.
@jaegee3716 you didn’t miss much
I have a degree in computer game’s technology. No six figure jobs in games.
There is in securing them 🌚🌚🌚
@TechTualChatter I didn't even think about that cybersecurity in the games industry. Thanks, King.

“Do it yourself” attitude 😂😂😂😂😂 foh
Dallas is wack 😂, Houston is far better than Austin, San Antonio and Dallas combined. And Austin and Dallas pollen is the worst in the top 5 😂. Abort mission
For tech jobs Dallas is much more attractive
Houston better for partying
@@TechTualChatterI don’t think DFW have as many tech jobs as they report. Those jobs are low paying unless u contracting. Also, the yt and other races hatred towards blacks is far worse than other Texas cities. DMV, Atlanta, Cali, NYC, Charlotte and Chicago tech jobs are real. Most tech folk in Dallas work remote to Chicago, DMV, Cali.
@@beats4life971 I agree to disagree lol
