The university in Cambridge, across the river from Boston, isn't a part of the original Ivy League but it's M.I.T., the Massachusetts [was in Boston] Institute of Technology, near the top in terms of its selectivity (often the second toughest in the world to be admitted into its undergraduate studies, neck-to-neck competing with Stanford and they may sometimes switch places). I studied their selectivities when I was shopping for colleges or universities to send my children to study in. I visited both of them. Stanford's campus was *crazily huge* ! I understand why they could have the Stanford Linear Accelerator over there accelerating elementary particles such as electrons to speeds extremely close to the speed of light (it's where the first experimental evidence for quarks surfaced).
If one didn't mind playing with mirrors, M.I.T. had an electric-arc-discharge-pumped carbon-dioxide laser which could be used for measuring the speed of the laser light inside a laboratory environment.
I don't think that you saw a giant squirrel. Maybe it's a beaver. I saw a beaver before at a culvert probably used for draining a cornfield. Beavers 🦫 are semi-aquatic so they have flat-pedal meaty tails for swimming in water.

USA is a relatively fat country because we have so much junk food here. I highly recommend getting a doctor's prescription for the drug "Levbid" if too many foods upset your stomach. I will pop a Levbid pill every few days if my stomach starts acting up and won't stop being a pain. But obviously, eating healthy foods is the best answer. 🙂

Thanks for answering my questions about you Universal Studios experience and for sharing about your roller coaster aversion. Believe me, once upon a time I was the most scared person when I comes to roller coasters and I was deathly afraid of even the ferris wheel. But then I went to disney, which started me going on all their small rides (splash mountain, thunder mountain railroad, space mountain, seven dwarves mine train, rock n roller coaster) compared to regular amusement parks. The secret is to just keep doing the biggest ride you can and eventually your body will crave more and more adrenaline. It takes a lot of visits though to local theme parks. Glad you really enjoyed Harry Potter World. I have a feeling you would have liked Epcot Center as you could compare there versions of the countries to the real thing! Wish you much success and fun this summer and safe travels!

Sorry I missed your livestream this time as I was away. Really great update on your life. Good exam results and glad you are happy with them, bring on the second year! How odd that it's Portugal you are going to due to your bad experience before. Hopefully you will be safer this time and will enjoy it. Jealous of your trip to universal studios as you are big Harry Potter fan. Cute dinos too! Hope your trip to Russia goes well and you have no trouble moving on to Portugal. Good luck this summer and hope you get a new apartment easily with no stress.

Usually, the more competitive a race is, the smaller the difference between the first- and the second-place winner. My Big Brother bet on horses 🐎 (horse racing was a "royal sport" in Hong Kong's Happy Valley, even attended by Queen Elisabeth II on her visit) so sometimes a horse just won in a photo-finish "by a neck." I think that it may well be where the expression "stick your neck out" came from !
The phase of the neck at the finish may be decisive.

I think you said, “Stampy” and “Chompy,” but I would suggest changing that slightly to “STOMPY” and “Chompy.”
The names rhyme, roll off the tongue, and represent the way by which they would bring about one’s demise.
If you wanted to make them sound a bit less cute, and a bit more vicious, you could leave off the letter “Y.”

Chicago is even much younger than Detroit, so dates are: 1880s - 1914 Morse's Roadhouse
1914 - 1920 Uptown neighborhood grew around it, changed to Green Mill Bar
1920 - 1930 Illegal bar owned by an Al Capone (famous mobster) deputy
Post: Back to a boring bar again, probably needed Jazz to spice it up

We the Columbians (not necessarily the Colombians) tend to call them breaks or vacations instead of holidays: winter break, spring break, winter vacation, and summer vacation.
The truth is that things tend to be the opposite of what they're called: vacations are actually terribly busy; breaks don't really offer rest from the hectic pace; holidays aren't "that holy" ! Such is the life of students -- a series of crises. 😂

Last time I was eating Pizza in NY a cook came running out of the kitchen, he was hunting a cockroach and finaly killed it with a broom in the middle of the dining room. Ah, fun times. The Pizza was awful, though, just fat and tasteless.
Dari, I love you and your videos, please don't be mad about your grades, remember they are just a way to seperate people from each other, don't fall for that trap. How many other students did you meet that do something like you (and are having success!) long before and while studying in a foreign country?

Just Google the photos and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Glad that everything seems to be working well for you. Will hope & pray that all goes well with your visas for Portugal. Caught that you may spend a few days in Pittsburgh, PA. I will give you a few of the better attractions in Pittsburgh that I feel that you may enjoy. Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Carnegie Museum of Art ( which is surprising large & good for a city that is smaller than Philadelphia & it is near the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, I thought both were exceptional), Phileps ( ? on the name) Conservatory & Botanical Garden, The Andy Warhol Museum of Art ( you may like it but I didn't)( it is a museum of only Andy Warhols, modern, art works), & if your into great views of a city the Duquesne Incline. ( if you aren't then perhaps you could skip it) Pittsburgh used to be a dirty polluted city but it has changed its image. Some of the food that seem to stand out is Steak Salad ( blue cheese dressing with fries, cooked strips of steak on a bed of lettuce with usually cherry tomatoes), & a burger with the French fries thrown on top along with tons of pickles and tomatoes. I found the food just well okay but nothing to write home about. The Steak Salad was filling an not badly priced 25 years ago but I don't know if they even offer it or the, in my opinion it should be called a ???, "Garbage Burger". ??? Personally, food is not Pittsburgh's best offering in my opinion but I will let you decide on that. ( Milwaukee in my opinion had the best food ) Falling Water's a house designed by the American Famous architect is somewhere outside of Pittsburgh and can be toured a group only. Whether you will like the house or not is subjective and will depend on your architectal taste.

I'm so sorry I missed the live stream. I'm South African. I saw you walking by yourself in Philadelphia. I'm much older and always worry about your safety. Florida is a big state. I 'know' 2 pod-casters with their teams. One in Tampa and the other one in Miami. The one group were in San Francisco recently, their rental car window smashed and they grabbed a backpack while the one guy were sitting in the car. They were still filming, camera on tri-pod when they heard the window being smashed. Young people run fast. They caught the guy and got the back pack.
Wishing you get a lovely studio where you can live. Greetings to your mom and family and a hug to your dog!!!

Yes, cities have robbers. Beware of some bad people on motorized vehicles such as mopeds, electric bikes, motorcycles, etc. who may rob and ride away. NYC should, for example, enforce the no-motor-bike rule by controlling all the entrances and exits of Central Park.
      Motor-bike gangs are a rob-and-ride-away menace.
