Star Fox SNES Level 3 without losing that Twin Blaster is the definition of the term "Nintendo Hard". The difficulty ranks right up there with original F-Zero's King League Master Class. Macbeth and Venom Surface are brutal.
I got close once. I had to cheat and use the black hole to skip to sector z. But even then it was tough. I got to venom and down to the planet's surface. Got to the commander boss and just lost very quickly. Try it a few times after that and just never got close. And if I just didn't use a black hole and start it from the beginning, fortuna was a hard level man it was just never made sense how the heck to do that level so I just gave up entirely. And I've heard a lot of people had huge trouble with route 3 so it's nice to know it wasn't just me lol
That is incomparable with blue surprise flip walls in Venom Surface. They have nasty habit of switching on their own. And all of sudden you get face to face with impossible to dodge wall split second before crashing into it. Ka-Boom! Instant death!
I keep getting stuck on Macbeth. I was so f-ing frustrated that I wanted to smash my controller, punch myself in the junk and then rear naked choke a kitten. After watching this... I feel even worse about myself... Good video though!
I did my first attempt on Level 3 a few weeks ago in 5+ years, maybe 10+ years (on my SNES). The brakes in Sector Z allowed me to keep the twin blasters throughout the rest of Level 3.
Damn, I've gotten through Level 1 and Level 2 with no damage, but Level 3? Forget it! I always messed up on Sector Z. It still makes me restless just thinking about it.

Not to mention the first round against the Great Commander was a frustrating fight.
@@StatusQuoDefierImagine if losing any teammate is instant game over. and crashing into anything indestructible is instant death.
The soundtrack for this was awesome for its time.
The SNES has one of my all-time favorite sound systems.
Agreed. This soundtrack is pretty solid.
The sequencing of the drums with every track is just crazy.

Did I just see the first attempt at an “All-Range Mode” long before Star Fox 64?
The recently un-unreleased Star Fox 2 on the SNES Classic goes all the way there.
you'd think they'd give a little more ending for a perfect 100% run... few more lines of dialogue even, smh
Man, I never could beat level 3 as a child.
Same here. I beat level 1 and 2 and with scores in the high 90% on average. Level 3 was more 60%-70% in stage 3 and 4.

My psycologist: A video can’t hurt you
Also Starfox:
Just came across this run - extremely impressive!
The soundtrack is so good.
You've chosen course 3... A good choice to take Venom by surprise!
Your father was a reckless fighter too...
I think you can miss up to 7-8 enemies in a stage and still get 100% as long as you still have your wing friends to catch them.
Sector Z was always my Achilles, especially where the moving clear pillars are, that is where i always crash.

I had no idea you could parry enemy plasma blasts? Impressive.. most impressive.
Job well done.

I had trouble stage 3 and on so don't feel bad. Watching this it's like, if you have to move, barely do it lol
I will say, that boss is not my favorite. Eesh.
I able to get 1 & 2 at 100% but 3? Forget it lol (Sector Z still gives me nightmares)
The secret is to keep trying until you get lucky and then only share that attempt.
16:00-16:20 UMM......HOW!?! 😲
Brakes. Brakes. Brakes. Brakes.
😎👍🏾

100%, my kind of player.
I have NO idea how you got through Sector Z without taking damage. that's CRAZY
I try to let everyone die on route 3. This way the ending will be bitter sweet. Its an impossible mission. Everyone cant come home. 😅
I could not get 100% on Fortuna. But I got the rest of the other stages 100%.
Tool assisted Speedrun?
Save states between stages.
