    This week’s film breakdown analyzes the Los Angeles Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford and how Sean McVay has designed an offense around him to make him this year’s MVP. While it’s only been 3 games, the Rams are 3-0 and Stafford’s efficiency stats are the best of his entire 12 year career.. and the Rams are just getting started. When McVay and the front office traded Jared Goff, McVay knew he was going to have to change his own offensive scheme and philosophy, so how did he do it? This episode uses the all-22 coaches film to analyze the Los Angeles Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford and his coach Sean McVay.

      @@JoseNavarro-gd9sb I've seen Lions have great players try carry the franchise when they had really shitty rosters. Their shoulders don't have it in them to carry all that weight to greatness. Its no surprise those studs back then like Calvin Johnson, Stafford and Suh tried and at best got decent success under guys like Jim Caldwell. But Suh won a Bowl with the Bucs playing with an aging Brady. As long as Stafford is healthy his winning legacy may be tied with how well McVay becomes aggressive pursuing greatness in the next few years.

    This new-look Rams team is great to see and gets me super excited. McVay is an incredible coach and really always has been and the talent on the team was always there, but they couldn’t ever replicate that season they made it to the super bowl. It’s unfortunate that Goff couldn’t get it done as there was potential there, a little at least, but Stafford is objectively a better quarterback. With Stafford in this system, we get to see all we would have for the past couple of years if Goff could have gotten it done. This team is awesome to watch this year and I have them as heavy favorites for representing the NFC in the super bowl. It’s honestly surprising just how good the NFC West division as a while is this year, not that that has too much to do with the topic but just an observation. Anyways, I’m excited to watch this team the rest of the year and if this level of play is sustained, Stafford will be MVP this season!

    Stafford and McVay get the best out of each other. McVay finally has a QB he doesnt have to micromanage, Stafford has a coach who knows what he's doing.
    One play I think differentiates Stafford from a guy like Goff was in his TD pass to Woods vs the Bears.
    It was near the goalline and McVay drew up a typical "McVay" play where he has a guy in motion who would usually be wide open. Well, Kupp was covered well in the flat as the defenders passed off their assignments well. The right tackle got beat, and Mack was crashing down on Stafford. Stafford doesnt panic. When he sees Kupp covered and Mack coming down on him, Stafford steps up in the pocket and goes to 2 and 3 when 1 wasnt open. He then throws a missile to Woods in the back of the endzone.
    Had that been Goff, he would've stared at Kupp being covered in the flat, and Mack would've sacked him.

      Analyst footage is available to coaches and some sportscasters. There's usually a wide shot camera (where most of Alex's breakdown shots are used) that films the game and is rarely used on broadcast.

Would love to see him get a Super Bowl ring....Especially this year, and probably every year, as my Putty Tats will most likely not reach the Super Bowl any time soon. I like that McVay is a genuine talent and seems like a nice guy, I like that Stafford is on a team that knows how to use him, and I like how the Rams are one of the most exciting teams in football. With that being said, considering all the draft picks that L.A has given up over the past couple of years they are very much in a "win now" mentality, and while the present is bright...I think they have badly screwed their future.

    Man wasted so many years of his career in Detroit. Hate that he got out at age 33 but he still got plenty of game left, but man watching him on the Rams hurts to watch because it makes you think how many awards he possibly could have got or super bowl pushes could have happened if not wasting away for 10+ years.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W Před 2 lety

      Agreed. But more than ever it shows that young QBs with ceilling/potential are going to be held hostage in the situations they are drafted in. Even if it works out they can play the next decade as professionals in a mediocre situation and settling for brass rings. Until they finally get themselves in a better organization with the talent around that is just looking for a top 10 QB despite being in their 30s.
