TW has come a long way in the past couple of years and their Hybrid line is testament to that success. Have a great Holiday season. Looking forward to more informative tips in 2024.

    When I bought my Ford Ranger in 2019, the dealership tried their hardest to upsell me on a ton of things... including "ceramic coating"... the "coating" (Simoniz Gloss Coat) started at $1500, he kept reducing the price and made the final offer of "coating" the truck for $600. I told him that for $600, I could buy a true ceramic coating, coat it myself and do my truck 5 times (I used GTechniq Eco v4, I still maintain it with GTechniqC2V3 and it still sheds water like a duck after case to 5 years!).
    I bought the long Buff Brite sidewinder nozzle... it is a game changer!

Im sorry for being so negative, but ive seen a few dealership shops in action and seen their results. Not good at all. A lot of times they damage the paint.

    A lot of dealerships when you purchase a coating, you're purchasing the warranty of the coating. The coatings are already applied to the vehicles because if the cars come back in better shape you have happier customers and there's less work when prepping it for the next customer. Not to mention the cars just look better with your license plate placard and whatever sticker they stick on and act as advertising. They don't put a coating on your car from the time you hit finance and receiving. It has to be already on the car. Granted I think these coatings are a bit of snake oil. Salesmen come to the dealership to offer the service and put some flammable stuff on top and light it on fire so it leaves a bit of soot and the paint is fine and the black stuff comes right off. It's like your typical state fair tactics and let's face it care salesmen are first nd foremost salesman. They know people. They don't know chemistry and they can be sold and accessories are where dealership money is made. Mudflaps, carpet mats, bugshields, wind buffers, etc. Especially if you see a super cute young girl outside of the salesman who is going to give you dealership options it is a pretty lucrative job. Most cars will have this stuff preinstalled and you'll see it on the sticker as well.
    TL;DR Unless it is scheduled then most likely the dealership coating is already installed and how much of a coating it is up for debate, but I wouldn't pay for something that I get for free just for a guarantee.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi. Thanks for sharing. Maybe some car manufacturers do, but when a new car comes in to dealerships they have plastic on the panels and if they had a true coating on the paint that plastic would not adhere. Same goes with any dealer stickers applied at the dealership. Stickers, vinyl, and ppf, can’t adhere to the paint after a coating is applied.
      That’s how we know the dealers don’t use true coatings. They are only selling a warranty as you said. No coatings are applied. Again it’s very rare that a dealer actually uses a true coating, but there workers definitely don’t take the proper time it takes to apply them.

    I currently detail at a dealership with the goal of becoming a professional mobile detailer , they use a product called permaplate which is some sort of sealent /wax that we spray on and spray off and they charge the customer $1,000 for it. 😔 I however will add a bit more protection to the vehicles there by adding Adams graphene detailer and I buy and use professional products and get made fun of for it but I look at it like this . I detail cars there the same way I would on my own as a business owner and it gives me a chance to see what chemicals I like but the things I see go on there is a shame. You should see what they use to wash cars with. It litteraly looks like a wool pad and it traps dirt and debris in it attached to a mop handle and the soap bucket is a mop bucket 😂 ,brand new hellcats and other high end cars getting scratched

      What soap are you using. Usually soaps will soften the water and even though it leaves some spots they rinse and wipe right off. It’s better to have the soap dry on the paint than just water alone.
      Also if you do get some spots using the polisher to apply a wax or sealant will remove those easily.

      Hi. Thanks. It’s just CSL on its own! 😎👍🏼

    Wash your towels with 1oz of vinegar in the rinse tray, and it helps a ton brother.

      Thanks man. Yeah I’ve tried all the tricks. Still over time towels will stop absorbing. But like I mentioned when they get damp then they dry better.

      @@MirandaDetailingoh yeah for sure. I always have a bucket with a little water with apc, and towels go straight in once they applied sealants. They can get expensive.
      Have ya tried the new harbor freight grant ones?

    It would be interesting to wash the Bronco with a true cleaning shampoo which could bring back that “ceramic coating” from the dealership. Probably won’t in this case but I usually try to give them the benefit of the doubt

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 7 měsíci +4

      Hi. I thought about that. But it was just a few weeks that it was “coated”. Definitely a scam. Too bad.

    • @declanflaherty8958
      @declanflaherty8958 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Definitely! I had 2 cars which were “coated” by dealerships and the owners were distraught. A lot of cash for 1 wash wonders.

      I know right? Man..I wish I could just make some deals with dealerships and they would charge what they want and then pay us to apply a proper costing. They can up charge all they want and still pay us at least 80% of the total they charge their customers. Most dealerships are too greedy to even think about that.

    Hi mate, I have a suggestion. Thought I’d whack it in here as it’s your latest vid.
    You know when you’re detailing and there’s no chat, just music?
    Well I think you should put some sort of chime in when you hold a product to the screen or you put words on the screen.
    I’m often working away on my Mac ‘kind of watching’, and I’ll look up and think ‘bugger, he’s changed chemicals’. And I’ll hit the rewind button.
    Now I’m not just suggesting this for me. It will help give the products more focus. And, I don’t think any other channel does it. Might be a pain during editing. Oh and don’t make the chime annoying ok? :) maybe a sound like a cork being removed.

    Is there a more scientific way to determine what you believe to be the case (coating no coating ). Dealers often offer a warranty when a mobile Detailer offers a supper coating what is the quality of the warranty? Thanks for video.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 6 měsíci +1

      No there isn’t. Dealerships are not forthcoming with what they do to the vehicle. They often don’t understand what they are selling how to explain what a coating is or how it should be applied.
      Their warranty is nothing but a limited contract that the customer pays for. Nothing but paper. What a detailing business like us offers is not a warranty. In fact I don’t offer warranties because it’s not good business practice. I warranty on vehicle protection is only a good as the maintenance of the vehicle. Example. One can offer a 10 year pro coatings with a warranty. However the customer never washes it or brings it back for proper maintenance. What good is the warranty to either person? I instead offer our maintenance service every 3 or 6 months to make sure the vehicle is looking its best and the coating is doing its job. Warranty’s are useless faulty paper contracts that do nothing. Proper care will always win out.

      @@MirandaDetailing thank you for taking the time to reply and sharing your perceptions with me. I can see benefits in your strategy. As far as I can tell not many customers know how to care for their vehicle’s cosmetics and offering professional quality service as you do is perhaps both a wonderful contribution and a wise business strategy. Congratulations on all success in business and here on CZcams. Thanks again and cheers to you

    Nice video. A pet hair removal video would be good for those who’ve never had to do it. Short pet hair can really thread itself into the fibers and can be difficult to remove to a novice. Your demonstration in this video was excellent!
