You can tell how down-to-earth Barry and Ashens really are. They just let their biggest fan walk in on them recording, and they just carry on without a second thought.

I don't think we have Rock here in the States. Salt water taffy is something totally different. Its soft. We have long candy cane in the shape of rock but that's about it.

I've seen old-fashioned stick candy in some specialty stores and bulk stores. Basically candy canes without the cane shape, and come in flavors like root beer and strawberry. But never chili peppers. Sounds like that prank candy they used to advertise in comic books!
Unfortunately, real wasabi is incredibly hard to get hold of outside of japan. Usually, what you get in restaurants is horseradish, with a slight hint of wasabi and some green food colouring.
Real wasabi is a little sweet, quite fragrant, but it still blows your head off for a moment.
Yeah, real wasabi is incredibly volatile. From being grated fresh it's pretty much tasteless within about 10 minutes. That's why they use the fake stuff pretty much everywhere, because using the real stuff would be impossible outside of a restaurant where they can grate it straight onto your plate.
They should have eaten the Vegemite + Cadbury chocolate that is in Australia, it's horrible.
I would eat the shit out of that, they had a Marmite chocolate bar over here a while ago and I loved it.

BTW That castle thing on top of the Elephant is actually called a Howdah. It was originally used by I believe the Indian and the Moghul Empire as defensive emplacements and the used to fire bows at their enemies from them, later when gunpowder came in, they were used to fire muskets etc from them. They were later used by the British Raj to travel around in whilst hunting and were used by usually the upper class to fire rifles from whilst they hunted tigers.

In America we would call that kind of candy, like in the beginning, candy cane. Taffy is a soft chewy candy.
I was always told I had really soft hands... even though my job was 10-12 hour shifts standing and doing physical work.
I was a baker's assistant, deep frying donuts, so my hands were constantly scrubbed with flour and hydrated with oil.
The shifting backgrounds made this video even more interesting, and Barry was great in this one.
We just call it hard candy or rock candy. Least in the midwest we tend to have diff names for items in different regions sometimes. Like Soda/Pop/Cola...

That first one looks like a Candy Cane, we make them in several shapes, and several flavors, though they're typically called by that familiar name. They're typically reserved for the Holidays, particularly Christmas. Usually made with peppermint, but sometimes other things, like Hershey's makes one with chocolate flavoring as well.

We do have something kind of like Rock here in 'Murica, I don't know what it's called honestly but it's kind of like a twisted lollipop on a stick. And the other thing Rock reminds me of would be candy canes.

might be candy cane, might also be rock candy. those are the two names I have heard hard sugar sticks called, although rock candy usually comes dipped onto a wood stick like a lollipop with huge sugar cubes. I've also seen those called candy sticks.

Green & Black's is my personal favourite, it's pretty good. The milk chocolate is a bit darker than regular milk chocolate.

We do have this sort of candy (at least in New England) but they break it into bite sized pieces so the little designs are more visible. basically the same as salt water taffy in hard candy form.
About the Pizza rock. Basil has a slight aniseed taste. I think they messed up the flavourings!

Yea, exactly! (Everyone knows what's on a Margherita pizza. But they were only weirded out by the aniseed taste)
they must have used artificial flavourings. when they do that and want to make new flavours they mix various flavours in order to create a flavour people can recognise but they often don't get it very close. I doubt they had a pot of basil flavouring that they used.
+Warmachine Vengeance It depends on who makes it. In a lot of Spanish countries they seem to use oregano. To be honest I've never really seen basil used, it's normally oregano or no herbs at all.
However it's always cheese and tomato.

In the American Midwest by the Great Lakes we have stick candy that looks a lot like rock - only it is thinner and doesn't have anything written in it.
Also, that Ashens spittake is now the highlight of my year.

Haven't had a stick of rock in years. It used to be the usual present you'd get for someone if you were on holidays near the beach.
Taffy's the soft chewy stuff with odd flavors that comes either in small pre-wrapped chunks or ropes. It's really popular in East Coast seaside areas like North Carolina's Outer Banks area.
in my country, rock is not sold in stores, and you have to go to the bad part of town to buy it. a rock candy house, if you will. and possession is punishable with up to 10 years in rock candy prison (aka the witches house in Hansel and Gretel)
