This song has a lot of meaning for me. It came out the summer before my family split up. That summer, my stepsiblings and neighbors and I played touch football in the yard and had a great time. Then Dad and stepmother divorced and this song somehow made things better. I have to say, though, I like it a lot better when it is sung simply without the additional lyrics.
My college alumni marching band is just adopted this song as one of our parade songs for the La Crosse Oktoberfest Parade In La Crosse WI
