- Follow our three tips to maximize the lifespan of your ebike Battery!
1 - Charge the battery every day that you use it, avoid draining it all the way to zero
2 - Do not leave the battery plugged in for extended periods of time, overnight charging is ok but don't leave it constantly plugged in
3 - If you store the bike without using it, top off the charge at least once a month

Thanks for the info, why the mask outside?
Everything pretty straightforward. That’s what I do since almost 35 years. That’s how people should treat batteries.
THANKS FOR INFO
Thanks very informative
Excellent advice 👏🏽
Only for starter battery of your car.
For Li-Ion that's advice of premature battery death.
Short and to the point
Two out of three of your rules conflict with agreed upon best practices from battery manufacturers and other instructional videos.
1. Don't charge everyday, it should depend on usage. I wouldn't charge them unless They were down to 50 or 60% battery life, ideally ~20%.
2. Agree, less is even better - unless for " battery balancing".
3. Charge to only ~80% for storage.
Your charging technique and explanation of such was spot on!
Charging battery every day is good way to cut down charge cycles you can get out of battery!
Only lead acid batteries like sitting around in fully charged state.
In Li-Ions fully charged state/high cell voltage accelerates one of the chemical processes eating capacity. (double that if ambient temperature is highish)
Hence if long range isn't needed at next ride, it's best to keep battery closer to half charge than full charge.
And in long term storage full charge is even worser and Li-Ion should be kept ideally around 50-60%!
Nokia? 😉
Do I switch the battery off before charging? Thanks for video.
Yes, of course, please make sure the battery is switched off before charging it.
Thanks so much for such a quick response. I've done that and just waiting for the red light to go green.... It's my first time

solid tips! one question though. would you charge the battery after every use of the bike - wether the ride was 30 min or 3 hrs?
Yes, we recommend topping off the charge every day that you ride the bike, whether it's a short or long ride.
Unless needing the range of higher charge for next ride/rides before another charging chance, try to keep charge level between 50-80%.
Unless you're using lead acid batteries.
Their recipe for long life is premature capacity loss recipe for Li-Ion.
Be polite don't forget to ask the shop owner if you can use their outlets, remember how its always the bad eggs that spoil it for everybody else, to ensure I keep my shop keeper where I charge my bike happy ill pay 20 cents extra for the bill, this is up to you,
How do you know that she hasn't asked?
She might have asked...
Do we charge it when we 1st get it
yes
wrong! Charger is to be plugged into the wall first and NOT the bike. the capacitors in the charger need to be safely charged up before plugging into the bike.Hence the huge spark you get when you don't plug it into the wall first. That spark also with time deteriorates the connecter plug on the bike. The smaller the spark or no spark, the longer it lasts.
We politely disagree. To quote the Bosch eBike Battery Guide, "Simply insert the plug on the charger into the socket in the battery mount and insert the power plug into the wall outlet." If you are getting a getting a spark at all, it is a dangerous situation. We cannot think a scenario where the situation you describe is desirable.
Pretty straight forward info by a Pretty woman! (Even with a covid mask-On)😍🥰♥
Weirdo. Stay inside.
she's so pretty btw, would like to get her instagram haha
Mumble mumble.... take the mask off, you're outside geez..
