Another tip for when the new rotations are out: I don’t push my cart around when a new rotation is out, it slows me down, and I have accidentally mistaken someone else’s while pushing it away in a hurry, like a porch pirate, so embarrasing! Instead, I carry an empty Ikea bag on each shoulder, which I prefer to leave on the floor when it gets heavy and bulky. Then I pile my finds on my shoulder and when it’s too many, I pick up my bags and dump them in my cart! Hope this helps some of you. Love the content and reading all your comments!!
This is such a great tip! Thanks so much for sharing I’m sure some people will find it to be valuable for sure!!
Great tip! I have two bins I I go to from time to time and I do the same at one of them. Most of the regulars do too. Having all those carts clogs the walking area and it can get to be a real hazard. At my other bins the staff don’t let you walk away from your cart. If you do, they’ll take it and dump your stuff 😢
Thank you so much for this series! Started going to the bins regularly a month ago. Another tip is to say hello/good morning with a smile to the security guard and check-out employees. They really appreciate it and my experience is better when they know I'm a friendly person. My bins have shopping carts. I bring a white bag with a specific logo and put it on the bottom rack of my cart so mine is easier to identify. I don't want to accidentally use someone else's cart!
Haha the identifier is a great tip!!! Also being kind to all staff everywhere is a huge life tip and shoutout for sure!!!
If someone isn’t nice when you approach them try another person. Don’t take it personal. Also yes! People act so different when digging (especially a new bin) compared to when they are on the side taking a break or casually digging through an old bin. I call it “vulture” behavior. They can be a bit agressive when digging but can turn around and be so kind when more relaxed when they are done feeling like they have to find the best items in a bin lol
This is such a great and true comment! People definitely act differently during the dig haha. We’ve honestly made some of our closest friends and met some of the kindest people EVER at the bins… just not during the rotations 😂
Really good advice! I have only been to 3 bins locally but hope to make it to one in AZ in August when I’m there for a few days. Bins really is a great way to keep cost of goods very low.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I totally agree on the low COGs.
Good points!
Thank you for watching!
Fantastic video! My bins are very chaotic but I always go in thinking what's meant for me will find me...and I always leave with goodies! Looking forward to part 3.
Haha I totally get this! The bins will be.. the bins. Thank you so much for watching and commenting and next in the series up next week!
Fairly new to the bins. I’ve never seen super aggressive behavior or fighting over anything.
These locations don’t make people stay on the side then say GO!! There is a rush for new bins.
There’s a guy at one location who thinks he owns the place!!😂
He helps the workers move out empty bins and “holds court” in a corner where some chairs are set up. He’s there for hours and just hangs out while waiting on new bins. He wears very dark sunglasses in side. Its weird. He thinks he knows more than anyone else and offers his opinion although you never asked for it. The bins are fascinating people watching!!!
Haha Sean is a huge people watcher and loved this comment 😂 also there are quite a few bins who have their local “kings & queens” so I know exactly what you mean!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for always showing support!!!
I recently went to a new bins, and I really wish I had asked the staff about the rules because they were so different from any of the others I had been too. The weirdest one for me was that everyone needed to check out in between rotations. I ended up making a few bad buys because I didn't have time to review my cart. It was, however, the chillest location I've ever been to
I totally get this - I’ve been to a few with the same rules, one time without knowing and did the exact same thing!
Mine has a pile on the floor too lol there are carts but they’re not allowed in the rotation, they have to be on the side. So most people have a box or bin they drag around with them as they dig but if they don’t it’s pile on the floor 😂
Haha I’ve only seen that here so far! I love the bin dragging though and totally get that 😂 thanks for sharing!
I find myself regularly touching other peoples carts to move them out of the way. People at my bins will walk away from their carts in the middle of the isle. Very frustrating. 🙄
Haha I definitely hear you on this - I also would sometimes have to move carts out of the way.
Great info! Headed to a new one tomorrow.
So exciting! I love checking lit new locations :)
