For those wondering why was the entire cast changed for Season 2 of this series, the logic is quite simple and reasonable. Season 1, which came out in 2018, but was set in 1998, saw the lead character Harshu being 12-13 years old. Now, if the same cast was to be repeated and the story continued, then Harshu would have been 17-18 years old and the year would have been 2004. Since the essence of this series is about the middle class life in the 90's, that essence couldn't have been reflected if the story was now set in 2004. Hence, the creative team decided to introudce a new story and new cast for the new season set in 1994...😅
You are right sir, but according to the title the main concept of the series is that family and as far as 90s nostalgia is concerned, 2000 to 2005 was also a nostalgic era, it could have been based on that.
but yes, it is also true that we have become selfish because we have become emotionally attached to that family. 😊

While not trying to undermine the efforts of the creators, this season could not carry on the legacy that season 1 had created, not talking about the cast, they suited their respective roles, but apart from the situations where neerja understood ritika's emotional pain and supported her and when rishi stood up for his sister, neither was winter depicted properly nor were the icon's which defined the 90's. Dissapointed, season 1 has made the standards super high

I don't know why, but if seems as if the nuance and subtly of the first season has been given up for a more loud and generic approach. I have faith in TVF and hope that i am wrong, that they have made the season just as good, without sacrificing any quality to appease the mainstream.

Jab logon ko purani cast se pyar hai, purani story ke continuity se pyaar hai, to kyon nayi cast aur naya format introduce kiya hai. A stellar webseries like YMF S1 is a masterpiece not because of any hifi CGI, VFX or action scene but because of the emotions and the bonding with characters immersed in the storyline. If you temper with that attachment, replace cast, replace the continuity, you ruin our emotions and spirits too. Itna to TVF ko samjhana chaiye tha. TVF implemented this in KF S2, Pitchers S2 and is implementing in Aspirants S2 most probably and thats what connects the audience so well. Thats why we say that TVF is an emotion.
I should not say anything about the new season till I watch it, but my spirits went very low after seeing this announcement S2.
Feeling no connection, no attachment & altogether no excitement either. Isse acha kabhi nhi aata YMF S2. Tripping ke S2 ya S3 jaisa nikal jayega most probably.
The original cast has evolved, so they wouldn't accurately represent the era. Yeh Meri Family centers around the life of the 90s as its core theme.
