The school policy : “Columbia students have the right to protest, but they are not allowed to disrupt campus life or harass and intimidate fellow students and members of the community”. There are 2 sides to the story and media coverage should be questioned about how things are portrayed.
But they are not harassing students on campus. The students speaking abo ut not feeling safe or comfortable is because the student protestors are saying “Free P|aestine” and from the river to the 🌊. Those phrases are not attacking anyone but a state that is committing genocide. The school policy just recently changed abruptly to prevent students who are protesting about 🍉
I’m not saying the students are harassing anyone on campus. Students have a right to protest as long as what they do, does not violate school policy. When said earlier to look at the 2 sides to the story, the suggestion is look at how media coverage is portraying this situation and question the severity of the punishment. The language, what is being covered and what is not, how the overall portrayal is. Protests on college campuses has also been a thing throughout College history especially around wars, racism, inequality among the sexs. What makes this one any different and the response so harshly?
I wasn’t arguing with you just adding on to what actually happening. The only reason these protesters are different is because of the power and influence a certain group holds over the us and politicians. You are right it, students have been protesting for years but the stakes seems to be higher for these one. But as someone who is actively on campus, they are blowing these “harassment” “threatening” claims. If anything Muslim faculty and students and staff are receiving harassment and threatening notes from the administration, alumnus and donors and a few campus security and students.
The way y’all didn’t even address whatever is going on with tez is wild.. she held y’all down for over a year
