Who are they going to vote for? It's a money problem, not a political party problem. The city's roads are way too narrow and congested for the number of cars there. The city needs money to improve those roads. The Dems are more direct in discussing these kinds of issues and the money required to pay for them. The Republicans are not. They will argue over the issue and not fix it or make you pay more to fix the problem. Ever notice how some red states don't have a state tax but have way higher sales taxes, property taxes, and nickle and dime you for basic services? You can choose to pay for it directly, like the Dems are asking or pay more for it indirectly, but in the long run, you're still going to pay!

Those same people will say that the officials they elected to fix the problem are corrupt or on the take. Then turn around and actually elect people who are corrupt and on the take, just because those people make promises to you that they can't keep, which ends up costing you even more money. Everyone in New York KNOWS that this is the logical solution to this problem. Quit being children and accept your fate. You want to own a car, pony up to it. If not, take the darn subway!

They already do that. There are income and capital gains taxes in NYC, including if you live outside of NYC but work in the city, at least, that's how I understand the code works. But this is as much or more about eliminating or reducing the volume of cars in NYC.

No matter how many times Tez tried to get them to see the real issue that there are ppl working for below minimum wage and yet they are still getting charged to eat an employee meal is insane. The host dwelled on the menu items wtf 😳 smh. These restaurant literally throw out food at the end of the day majority of the time. Employees should be able to eat for free especially if they aren’t even making five dollars an hour. Thats insane! But the host had a major problem with the NY congestion toll. All of the issues were outrageous

In Dallas, the tolls DOUBLE during congestion hours, almost triple if there's an accident. There was a Fed Ex truck that turned over and the $3 normal toll went up to $7. It's ridiculous. If I take the toll, it's $10 in tolls ONE WAY for me with only two tolls.
The rest of Europe and Asia already have congestion charges😕
And healthy food, decent or free healthcare, better free education, mostly less violence.

NTTA in Dallas is doing the exact same thing they just didnt tell us or maybe I missed the memo. Tolls can be anywhere from .30- $30 depending on the time of day. Not to mention you can pass through 5 tolls ONE WAY! Its absolutely INSANE!
That's the same in northern Virginia. Their ez pass has dynamic pricing so it goes up depending on the traffic
It’s literally laid out that the congestion pricing is to reduce traffic (as well as bring in money). They want to deter as many drivers as possible from entering Manhattan
Except it doesn’t do that it diverts traffic from the rich neighborhoods to the poorer neighborhoods. We know that because the bill also sets aside money to upgrade air filtration systems in the schools it’s known the traffic will divert towards
“At cost” means the cost of the ingredients included to make the meal. (The cost for 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon etc). That’s how it comes out to $3. Stay in school kids.

This is a rich man's tax and they want working class people to fight against it. The average New Yorker that works in the city does not drive into the city because parking is expensive. Even with employee discounts, companies like google have a discount rate of $35 a day. That's $700 a month just for parking. Majority of people take the train or bus to work in NYC. It's people like Envy who can afford the parking that drive into work.

I’m a server/bartender. We get 50% off our food. We don’t get a pay check. It gets taken out of the money I get at the end of my shift. So say I made $200 and my food is $6. I take home $194.

Like Charlamagne mentioned @ 3:51, We have something like this in the UK; London to be exact. Ours is called the Congestion Zone and it's been operating for the last 20 years (Started in 2003). It's gone through changes over the years (expanded and then reduced, price increases as expected, Operation Time changes) and as beneficial and effective as the government claims, It's clearly just a cash grab and a deterrent from using any kind of motor vehicles in the central and city of London areas. As with NYC, we've being more pushed to substitute personal vehicles for public transport but the reality is that in it's current condition, Transport For London (Our transit system) is already overcrowded and at capacity in the the peak hours. On the roads, London is just as, if not more, congested in the peak hours regardless of any opposing factors. It's gotten worse over the years on both ends.
A word of advice to NYC residents, I highly advise you pay attention to what comes after this; If it's not a Clean Air Zone as an additional tax, your government or city council WILL look to expend it and increase prices across the board. Take action from now. The result will hit the working and lower class the hardest.

Here is the problem with New York’s congestion pricing: New York is copying London but fails to offer the same resources as London i.e subways. I visited London last year and while I am not fond of the city I was truly impressed with the “tube” subways/trains: they were clean, reliable, and I felt safe. New York cannot say the same and we all know that. The fact that New York attempts to remodel their subways with the money they get from congestion pricing is a bit backwards. Implementing congestion pricing in hopes people will use public transportation is nonsensical if safety cannot be guaranteed.

Tipped employees federal minimum wage is $2.13. The government believes that the cash wages combined with tip equal $7.25, that's why I tip appropriately when dining out.
