Cross brace is in the wrong position! Should start t the top on the side opposite the hinges.

Good catch! I initially intended for the hinges to be on the other side, however, we did not like the direction the door opened....so I switched it.

How did you measure the width of the gate? How much space on each side?

I just did a half inch on each side.....I figured that was plenty of space in case things shifted or moved. It's been 3 years and still good to go! Good luck!
