  • Her Majesty's Prison Wakefield is a Category A men's prison, located in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. The prison is operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service, and is the largest high-security prison in the United Kingdom (and western Europe). The prison has been nicknamed the "Monster Mansion" due to the large number of high-profile offenders held there.
    Wakefield Prison holds approximately 600 of Britain's most dangerous people, offenders and prisoners serving life sentences for violent crimes against women and children). Accommodation at the prison comprises single-occupancy cells with integral sanitation. All residential units have kitchens available for offenders to prepare their own meals. An Incentives and Earned Privileges system allows standard and enhanced offenders the opportunity of in-cell TV. All offenders are subject to mandatory drugs testing and there are voluntary testing arrangements, which are compulsory for all offenders employed as e.g. wing cleaners or kitchen workers.
    HMP Wakefield offers a range of activities for inmates, including charity work, an accredited course in industrial cleaning, and a Braille shop where offenders convert books to Braille. The Education Department is operated by The Manchester College, and offers learning opportunities ranging from basic skills to Open University courses. Other facilities include a prison shop, gym, and multi-faith chaplaincy.

    I moved to the UK with my parents in my mid teens. I lived there for 7 years completing my schooling there. The thuggish mentality of the mouth breathing-bottom feeders that are so prevalent there, has never ceased to amaze and horrify me. And yes I was a victim of their brutish mentality through verbal and physical attack. My theory is that the enlistment of healthy able bodied males in the second World War depleted the gene pool of a large portion of British society. Unforunately what was left has bred ever increasingly disordered offspring.
    I am by no means suggesting that this is what all Brits are like.

A personality disorder can be managed yes, if the indiv wants that to happen and sincerely wants to change , we are all products of our life experiences and environment so there is always hope and even then there are gonna be setbacks , Just dont have the tolerance anymore and chose out altogether . I watch vids like this and am so grateful this type of environment and personalities are not effecting my life anymore . Easy time for the youth of todayA few of my pals did time in YOI in the 80's plenty of beatings and bumming went on with the blind eye looking.Most of today wannabe bad boys would of topped themselves if they did time 30 years ago. I've heard some real horror stories what went on back in those days. No caring social workers, no understanding screws.Only the true nasty ones kept on returning to jail.Most of it is drug induced confidence that explains the bravado of today's young prisoners who can get drugs as easy as getting paper. Take away the drugs and place them in an 80's nick and Id bet you they wouldn't be as cocky as they are and most likely never return to jail again.

    all inmates in prison should be subject to intensive education with their release dependent upon their educational attainment. Educational classes should start at 9 AM through to 5 PM five days per week with Saturdays being reserved for thorough cleaning of the jail with Sundays being reserved for quiet contemplation - of the crimes they committed to get themselves incarcerated in the first place. There should be very few (if any) sentences of less than 10 years as most of the prison population is in dire need of extensive education (if only to make them speak correctly).
    It'd be for the best....

      Unfortunately, that would cost far too much for the government to want to entertain . They’d rather spend it on creating a new image of the new monarch on a pound coin.
      What they need to do is bring back forced labour. Make them work 20 hours a day on something which brings in the income to feed them and employ better staff.
      Our taxes can be spent on areas deserving it such as the NHS etc and the prisoners will be so tired from the hard work, they won’t have the time or energy to take hostages, create weapons and fight each other . They’ll all be out like a light!

  • @ItzOZZA
    @ItzOZZA Před 2 lety +3

    A problem with our system is that poverty and misery is high in a lot of areas and when it’s high for as long as it’s been in England this is what happens you end up with kids who have grown into animals and actually enjoy the way their life is going and don’t care about being in society cause they live in their own little worlds.

    Anyone in prison who takes a hostage or starts a fight should be put in solitary for a year. 2nd time 2 yrs solitary and EVERY time another year of solitary.
