Caufield was a B. His overall game improved a lot despite falling short on expected goal production…though he still scored 28.

Yeah totally agree, I think a C whatever is a harsh grade for what he did this season.

Austin Matthews is the heir apparent to Alex Ovechkin in terms of scoring goals no doubt but in terms of grit and toughness there is absolutely no comparison, maybe Mathews in the future will be that too.

With all the Leafs firepower when is the last time they scored more than three goals?

Stu made a really great point. No Leafs players are seriously turning people into fans. The way I see it, they have generational talent in Matthews. It doesn’t always translate into a generational PLAYER. A bonafide Cup winner. There are some exceptions to that. Some haven’t won it but had what it took. Iginla for example. The Leafs aren’t there yet in terms of mindset, mentality, killer instinct, IT factor.

Injury prone is injury prone. They can't rely on dach staying healthy. They need a second line centre.

Matt: Stop dancing around! or cut back on the coffee. you don't need a stimulant - you need to calm down. I don't think that the medium is like kind to continuous rapid motion on the screen. Your analyses and knowledge are fine.

If the Habs draft a forward, unless they land the number 1 pick, it's going to take 2-4 years to develop and make an impact with the Habs. If they are looking for a top 6 forward for next season and the future, they will either have to sign a free agent or trade for one.

      Colorado is a better example.

No this is how the habs become contenders and it’s the only way, they will never be contenders carrying Anderson, Gallagher and dvoraks contract , that 16.7 millions in cap space . Once they get rid of those contracts then they’ll have the freedom to pull affective trades and they have plenty of assets to trade.

Matheson is a defenseman... you can't give him an A when he's been the worst defenseman defensively all year. He shouldn't have the worst plus minus differential with a bunch of rookie/yound defenseman. At the end of the day if you score 4 goals and you give up 5 you lose.

      He plays 30mins a night.
      And is on the ice
      EVERY. SINGLE. TIME
they trail by a goal late in the 3rd…
which means he gets a minus for all those empty net goals from the opposing team in these situations
