- Replacing the OEM Radiator with a Ron Davis Radiator. More turbo prep than preventative maintenance, but really happy with this radiator so far!

Actually I found that the green coolant is the way to go for 1 It's no different than the red coolant in performance and 2 you can find the green coolant in a lot more places when you're in the middle of nowhere than you can find the red and that's when you need it.

Great video. I have a '17 GX460 but it's so new (128k miles) my maintenance has only been preventative so far; fluids, brakes, etc. BUT, my 180k Subaru outback was having some cooling issues after a recent hose service.
I determined that there was air trapped in the system. Partially because Subaru hates us and put the highest point of the cooling system in the heater core (inside the car WTF). The other part is that they didn't elevate the front of the vehicle. I ended up doing this and got *many* bubbles out. I'm sure your LC is better designed than this, just thought I would share my fun story. Will be looking for an LC200/LX570 as my next ride (really love the V8 power and I'm all on-road/highway right now). Love your truck!!!!
Sounds like a Subaru thing to do 😂. Luckily I had an upper reservoir on the STi I had so bleeding was a lot easier on that. A lot of European cars need to be elevated too so I just do it out of habit now lol.

My coolant temps are always cooler at idle because (I have the modified fan clutch) it is actually pulling more air through the radiator. I think you will see they will climb a little while driving. You would think it would be the opposite but there is some differential between the air passing through the radiator at speed and what the fan will allow and while at idle. If that makes any sense. One way you can even make it more efficient is to put foam between the top of the radiator and the core support and between the fan shroud and the radiator. Let the fan pull as much air directly through the radiator without having any air intake from anywhere else. How much was that radiator? I replaced mine a while back with some "known brand" off ebay I think an it's been great for years. Coolant temps are such a "hot" topic 😜. Everyone is looking to be the lowest but as long as it doesn't get into the 200+teens (I think the AC cutoff is like 225º or something?) it will be ok.
is that unamed co. still making those turbo kits? There's been a lot of bad blood and bad talk about that dude over the last year or so...if it's the same (WE....this could mean anything people! 😁) that I am thinking. Any updates on your temps since you put it in? Sweet gauge too! Now that's a cool company!
Good ideas! Might have to play with those if it comes down to it. This rad was about $1200 shipped to me, so not the most economical choice but hopefully a good one lol.

So temps have been really good, I don't think I've seen them get higher than 195 doing some low speed wheeling which is really good!
I live here in AZ, I always use OEM Denso on my Toyotas!
