- After seven glorious years together I decided to step down as the guitarist of Sabaton.
Main reason beeing that I need to follow my heart and put my main focus on my own career both as a solo artist and with my band Majestica that I was a part of from the beginning in 2002.
The guys in Sabaton are my brother, my friends, my family and the crew is the best people in the world that I’ve had the honor of working and living with.
Nothing bad has come out of this and I have enjoyed every minute of being a part of Sabaton.
I’m gonna miss waking up in the morning on the tour bus to a coffee prepared by Hannes before we work out together, gonna miss all the Walmart strolls and the late movie nights with Chris, I’m gonna miss having a beer with Pär and playing video games with him, and I’m gonna miss playing piano and singing harmonies with Joakim! ❤️
But this is not the end - it’s the beginning of a new chapter and I couldn’t be happier to know that Thobbe is back in the band playing the ”Bismarck” solo every night! ❤️💪

I've only been a fan for a few months. I'm obsessed. I cried like a baby and I don't want you to stop in Sabaton, I want you to do your new thing, I want you to do your all. Wish the day had double the hours. I wish I had been there to watch you when you were in our city in our beloved Sweden, but then I didn't even know who you or Sabaton were. It was my then less than 14 year old daughter who wanted to go. From one who could be your mother and wishes you to cover everyone around for all decades

Tommy, I first found you here on CZcams, so I got to know Sabaton through you. I feel you have been a great member of Sabaton. You played the guitar, when needed you played the piano, and when needed you sang instead of Joakim. Not everyone can do this. You are such a very talented musician. You can be a complete rockband by yourself. Thanks to your musical education, you can play or sing anything at any time. And you prove this here on CZcams every week.

The best, and longest played cover of God Gave Rock and Roll to You, is by Petra, Greg V Volz was the vocalist, his version is the best of anyone, Petra continued this legendary cover with vocalist John Schlitt (formerly of Head East), still beloved song from by many fans (Petra has been a band 52 years).
KISS did a cover of it. Don't hear it anymore anywhere.
Tommy did great with this cover, sweet tribute to his Sabaton brothers.

No disrespect or so, but Chris and Thobbe shenanigans was always better. For example Thobbe was first with the Swedish Pagans thing
Dont get me wrong Tommy is great he is very talented, and a good performer, but i feel Thobbe is a better fit for Sabaton

I first heard this song recorded by the classic Christian rock band Petra on the Beat the System album some near 40 years ago. It was a KILLER riff way back then, an INSTANT CLASSIC jam that stands the test of time. Tommy's version here just has so much more soul and emotion and overall LOVE just oozing out from every note. With Tommy's involvement with several other Christian Metal bands, namely Reinxeed, DivineFire, and a few others, this makes such PERFECT sense to me. His glorious riffage at the start of this cover is just the auditory kick in the ears I needed on this FRI-YAY!!!! Thank you Maestro Johansson!
