Okay, let's be honest for a moment here; this is a RISKY cover for ANYBODY to attempt. When Meat Loaf released this song so many years ago, it was an INSTANT CLASSIC. To get a 'Tommyfied' version of this iconic tune is nothing short of an early Christmas present to his legions of fans. We're a fickle, judgmental lot, let's be real here. But, have faith in maestro Johansson and sit back and enjoy this INCREDIBLE version. The 'Johanssonized' version of this song is nothing short of FAN-STINKING-TASTIC!!!!

It is a very good version and has earned a subscription from me. I don't think it surpasses the OG or the Bat the musical version though, as it works better as a duet. But I'm impressed enough to want to hear more.
To even attempt it as a cover solo has earned a massive amount of respect from me! Meatloaf's OG rendition is still king, but this is truly a worthy cover.
Steinman wrote great big songs for great big singers. Tommy did a really good job here.
The fact he does it himself, is a REAL awesome.

I'm at a loss for words for how absolutely talented you are and Micheal Lee Aday would no doubt that you're continuing his legacy with such an awesome representation and rendition of his music. As a huge fan of Meatloaf I am very happy this rendition. I came by this channel by way of Peter Barber doing a reaction to Tommy’s cover of Phantom, which was great. On that video I said Tommy reminded me of a young Meatloaf, then I come here and hear this! Outstanding, Meatloaf would have been honored to hear this. I was in high school when the original came out, now years later this wonderful and faithful version. Thanks for doing such a great job.

Honestly, I’ve never heard any of your work before, but I’m crazy about Meat Loaf. A huge part of Meat was his emotion behind his performances and you actually capture energy in this. A lot of times you hear a cover, and sure it might be sung well, but it still lacks emotion, which makes it not great. This cover lacks nothing! This is honestly really stunning. You’re incredibly talented.
