- A boring day guarding a bridge turns very sour for two sentries in this scene from the first episode of the Canadian TV series 'X-Company'. I did post this a couple of years ago but this one is minus the TV ident so hopefully is a slight improvement.

It's always hard seeing a Goon sentry box mate coz it gets me thinking of that crack DDTV 'Springteufel' trooper doing his duty at the Swiss border. That cocksure lad backing into his box for cover (having sprung out to loose off some load), but falling out front slackly - all bullet 'n' splinter torn - after his post is riddled to f**k lol.
No such worries for match-fit Rottenführer (I defo want 'in' on his squad lol) 0:08 though: it looks like he's ended up with solid, hard wood here - and he's got plenty of room to lad spread out and work his way through the latest edition of Signal. Civvie's got some front blanking a Skull NCO (I'd have defo stopped off for bit [with any luck] lol) but I see his underhand tactics as wound-up top Goon's taken from behind at 0:15. Local lad has got to be feeling it as he hears those strangulated tones and imagines the garrotte cutting into that bull neck. It must be hard too for the assailant as he feels the full force of battle hardened Goon writhing and lashing out against him (f**k yes A!!). Decoy lad is definitely struggling to contain himself at 0:32 as the Rottenführer is roughly manhandled and pulled off. It's so hard seeing that elite Goon as a spent force mate (defo paying my respects when you take it nice 'n' 'slow' from 3:22 boss) and knowing what's in store for top Mann 1:00 (what a trooper m8; he looks the fkn business framed by his sheeny dark steel lid). Civvie lad's tongue in cheek at 1:00 gives his preferred game away I think lol but he follows the business route like a pro. Awwwf**k mate - the whiplash audio as the Goon's ensnared; tugging at the ligature with teeth gnashed 'n' bared - temporarily blinded as the steel slips. Ace to get a flash of shiny Goon shaft around 1:12 as the brutal lad on lad activity rocks the box before the noose tightens, the lid's off and we're struck so fkn hard by the drawn-out and wide-eyed effort of that breath-taking climax. Out fkn standing mate!! And what a bonus to revisit box #1 at 1:50 in time to catch the Rottenführer stripped down to his Skull brand undies while assailant tries his kit on for size. Priceless mate - Garrison and his lads were never too big for their Goon jackboots lol, but both those ladz make top rogue Greys at the end.
That was such a solid watch mate!! The fighting fitness of both teams, the brute force action and the kit focus are right up my shady straße of course - it almost feels bespoke. I definitely remember your first deployment but it was fkn ace to get acquainted again A. Thank you top lad; you defo know how to do Goonz!!
Now you're talking mate! I can see that poor sentry-boy at the gates of Hell now (well, Switzerland actually 😁) aimlessly spraying his load before attempting to take shelter behind his balsa-wood ersatz Goon-box, only to cop a bellyful of hot lead for his impudence, ending up a bullet riddled mess (a very nice mess though!) on the deck before his useless shattered cubbyhole lol. I love that scene!!!
But this pair are very much in that class too eh?! You and me are both gruntz in that squad you can bet J and if he's got some solid hard wood he's not alone in that is he?! I think the civvie (he's actually an OSS type in civvies) is just playing coy with the lad mate (in reality he's bricking it as he's not used to the heavy stuff lol) but there's no way a match-fit Goon is gonna take the cold shoulder from a civvie like this, and he's out of his box before we can say "schnell"! Sure enough there's a shock from behind (oooohhh, madam!) and he's on the deck writhing it off with Brit-boy Warren Brown tugging at him with no holds barred (lucky bugger!) and his body is sagging. "It must be hard too for the assailant as he feels the full force of battle hardened Goon writhing and lashing out against him" - you bet it is mate! The very thought of the Rottenführer being pulled-off is definitely playing on the first lad's mind (hardly surprising!) as is the prospect of what lies ahead at the bridge's end. 3:22 is some sight ain't it? The Rottenführer and Top Mann could almost be twins mate and you're right about 1:00 - he likes what he sees lol. I don't know what that tin lid reminds me of J but it's probably best not to go there (😈). "Awwwf**k mate - the whiplash audio as the Goon's ensnared; tugging at the ligature with teeth gnashed 'n' bared - temporarily blinded as the steel slips. Ace to get a flash of shiny Goon shaft around 1:12 as the brutal lad on lad activity rocks the box before the noose tightens, the lid's off and we're struck so fkn hard by the drawn-out and wide-eyed effort of that breath-taking climax" - is an ace description of the he-man struggle as one man tries to squeeze the life out of another, and the other thrashes and scrapes desperately for that breath that will not come, his face turning lurid shades of red and purple, teeth grit, the heart wrenching gurgles as his larynx is crushed, then his body crashes to the deck and he's out for the count (but is it final?!). We're not so sure about this one but 1:50 is definitely a gonner (the Brit lad's a bit of a psycho mate, even though he's an ex-copper!) and who can blame the Brit for getting that kit on J, it just had to be done lol. I love it that it doesn't fit right (that always creases me in most movies as they always seem to get the kit to fit like a glove, even Garrison lol) and it's shades of Goon Surplus again ain't it lol?! And much as they scrubbed up well enough to begin with the assailants defo look the biz at the finish - the job's a good 'un!
Sorry mate, I didn't think you'd seen this as I can't see your comment on the original upload, but hopefully it was a "solid" reacquaintance all the same and you got summat from it😈! There's a part 2 of this one to come, when we see the reason for their deployment here, but to be honest this is the main course (the dessert ain't bad at all mind!).

This may be the only 'X Co'y' scene I'd seen before (it had to be with you A), but it's SO on-message I would never tire of taking it's solid hit.

What a fight he puts up against the odds (yeah Wozza's a lucky lad [love his true-Brit tone 'f'kin hell' when the boots don't fit lol]) and you ain't wrong - when the lids (I know where you were zoned on that count mate lol) are off - him and top Mann look like bro's.
Wozza's mate defo gave the impression he was a rookie (and knew it would hurt) when it came to going lad on lad with battle hardened Goonz. Yeah - tackling the mythical 'one size fits all' property of Goon kit kit is fkn priceless; they must have had the 'Goon proportions' discussion at the planning stage lol. I'm defo up for the second act of this one mate - although my first impression was it was 'job-done' as we were just witnessing the acts of desperate men whose local branch of Goon Surplus was closed lol.

@@goontroopz9047 If this is the only scene you've seen from 'X-Company' J you are in for an effin' treat on so many levels! From Goonz, to kit, to weapons, to action, and the main team who do so much of the slaying, it's "stimulating" and a box ticker with plenty more to spare. It's definitely one of the best WW2 series I've seen for many a year.
"Oh to be under that Rottenführer's rod of iron" - yes indeed, and he sure puts up one helluva fight, as does his doppelganger in the other box (you'd almost think they really were throttling him ha ha!) and yeah, it's ace to see Wozza in the thick of it keeping the British end up (I bet!) and showing the Canuck just how it's done. They don't get up for another go when he's about, not like the hard-topped Heinie who the rookie just can't face sticking that blade into (more of him in the next one from this ep!) I defo never miss a lid J, never lol!
I always wanted in one of these clips one of the Allies, after topping a Goon and stealing his uniform, to put on a tunic and find it doesn't fasten up or the sleeves are too short etc, so this is the first time I think I've ever seen one where one part of the kit didn't fit lol. It does make it unique! It's not job done at all J, though I'm sure that kit they take will be kept for good use later lol. They're out to stop a German assault on a French village and the bridge needs blowing up - so the fireworks are far from over. I just hope I can get the next one up too, but the fact there was no copyright on this one is promising. Watch this space!

Yeah - it ain't like GG where a gentle slap is enough to snuff a fighting fit grunt; it really does suggest the brute force required to take on and take out a muscular, battle hardened Goon. I would have understood if rookie lad had decided to go with submissive tactics at his end of the bridge - leaving top Mann exposed to Wozza's hardcore approach perhaps lol.
Even as a colt A, me 'n' my bro's/mates questioned the one size fits all properties of robbed Goon strip. As discussed, I recently caught The Dozen gruntz in 'Nxt Mission' bellyaching about the Goon-stunk kit they get issued, but I too have never seen the fit of robbed strip considered before. It's fkn priceless mate - esp as the spent Rottenführer's rotting below in his undies while Wozza's struggling on the tug.

@@goontroopz9047 It's an excellent series J and it's sad that in the UK it only seems to have ever had an airing on the History Channel (which is a weird one to have chosen lol). It definitely ticks off both our check lists with a bit more to spare and I was definitely never found wanting at the end of each episode, mess 'n' all (😈).
They defo made this look realistic in the brutality didn't they? Much as I like the old movies it is a bugbear when they make a kill look so matter of fact, easy and in fact not the least bit painful for the victim. Jeez, I was almost gasping for breath myself in this one, especially at Top-Mann's he-man struggle (though summat else may have been at play here!!!!). The Rookie does OK to a point, but when you have a Goon down you gotta make sure he stays down (ahhhhhh, the thought of it!), and Wozza is the among the best there is (he's a bit of a psycho, being out for revenge after his wife and kids died in an air raid).
I was the same J, always wondering why when they took the uniforms off a vanquished foe they always seemed to fit the assailant perfectly as if made-to-measure lol. I do recall you mentioning that scene in Nxt Mission (I need to reacquaint myself with that movie as it's been years since I watched it all the way through) but I did get off on this scene with the boots and the non-fit lol. Wozza wasn't alone on the tug here ha ha!
Believe me mate you are a massive inspiration to me too and then some, and you bring so much that's new to the party J. I am indebted to you and more!
