Baddest partisans ever.
Loved this show as a kid.
watch the Bogart version, this is terrible
I had read and seen many places that the British Piats were craptastic weapons. On one military weapons show the host (supposed to be a master armorer) tried to fire one and it just sort of went "boing" and the projectile plopped to the ground. Attenborough made it look pretty effective here.
Yes, it's a pleasant fiction that Paris rose up, but one needed by post-war Gaullist cold war politics. De Gaulle needed to distract from the fact that the Communists had the biggest support not only in the Resistance but among voters in the first free election after the war.
Still one of the best WW2 battle scenes in any movie in my eyes. The bridge fight was pure carnage. Some years later I would read Cornelius Ryan's book and see an aerial shot of all the wrecked vehicles.
Patrol kaput nego šta ,ovako placena bagra isto prolazi u ukrajinu kao išvabo nekad.
My great great grandfather was a shoeman for the horses and proved his worth at 18 on April 5, 4 days b4 the Germans invaded Norway. Not a lot of horses in the movie April 9th but Gustoff Carlson was in the background putting fresh shoes in record time on every horse they could find for the transport of civilians, and whatever necessary . This skill he had, shoeing all four feet in like 2 mins, including any shaping or medical with the hoofs kept him mostly away from the fighting . My grandfather said he and his 3 member crew put shoes on probably 25000 horses in 5 years. Civilians were moved constantly, he said they even put shoes on cows, but didn’t work to well. He was in ww2
He was an unsung hero, like so many others. We should be grateful to them all and never forget.
❤
The truck is a 1970s product is suppose!

It should be noted that at no time during the entire conflict (or indeed any other conflicts), were any international bankers/financiers harmed in any way.
As one of my high school mates said 29 years ago:" It's so much, not okay that you cannot have a smoke in peace.." 🪖🚬
Martwego Lwa to i małpa w dupę ugryzie. Powodzenia.
It's funny to read that coming from a Pole when you know how much you've licked the balls of the Germans.
Apparently, quite a lot of people hereunder ignore the reality of the June landing. USUK forces were trapped inside the Cotentin area more that 70 days from june until early august due to fierce german resistance. German tanks in the south of France( Provence-Toulon-Marseille) started to move north to push back the allied in normandy. A normal one week trip (800km) made impossible by sabotages and ambushes organized by 40.000 french fighters of the french resistance -(FFI).Recently discovered archives show that Paris was not to be liberated by the allied forces but let be destroyed by the germans, like Varsovie in Poland. It was the paris people insurrection starting around august 15-1944 which led the french forces (Gal Leclerc) to disobey US orders and move west towards Paris instead of initial US plan to move north along the coast towards Antwerpen. This was to save the people of Paris who could not wait any longer, french forces made the big run towards Paris and moved in on August 22-23-24.
👍
Non realistic sense in the movie . Real war movie lover know it’s all fantasy not real
The people who fought in the battle generally thought it was as close to the real events as you were ever likely to get in a real movie. I think they were the ones to judge!
Jason Statham looks funny in a German Helmet 😅
Which one do you think is Jason Statham 😁
Now a RN candidate is praising nazi lol
By us , in Mayschoß, Germany, we had the old Max . He used to explain to the young people, his time,in the battle of Arnhem, he was 17 , and told about the " Amis" running to them. It was like it was yesterday. He helped on the parking of our hotel, and spoke to us. He died some years ago. He was famous in the village.
Isn't this the film where the 'star' actor only has one arm that works?
I don't remember that but I've not watched it for years so can't be certain.
The area looks similar to western France
It's meant to be Italy I think. I believe it was filmed in the Pacific Northwest of the US.

Biblical. Clean shaven Americans with their accents portraying soldiers from the UK. Not as convincing as it was in the 50’s movie era
They are not Americans, they are Canadians, and the Canadian uniform was pretty much the same as the British.
Shit - like anti-german-movies from holywood.
Love how the SS-dudes in black boots, dress uniforms, buttons, ties and all jump in like ninjas...
😁
01:05 Wait, was that guy drunk?
😁
Most Americans do not understand how much the French resistance really did.
Going by some of the comments (mainly from Russians) neither do many others.
It's their territory they've to resist and the Americans came to liberate them.
Great job 😊I don’t recall much of the wonderful series ❤
Thank you! As ever the views are low but I like it, and it looks like you do too!
Is this a full movie? Thanks
No, it's a clip from one of 28 episodes of the Canadian TV series 'X Company'.
Is this a short or full movie🎬 ?? Title please. Thanks
No, it's a clip from one of 6 episodes of the French TV mini-series 'Resistance' (2014).
French gooverment Vichy was the exact replica German Weimar gouvernement...in an other context.

what a shitty scene
Ee-gads. What a neck crack that was. Bet he felt better after getting that kink in the neck sorted, though.
I wouldn't think of trusting a goon. Neither would these guys by the looks. But that goes without saying. Fortunately, not without shooting though. Not familiar with this one... looks like it might have been pretty good.
It's an excellent series that ran to 28 episodes over 3 seasons. Views are always pretty poor when I upload it but don't let that put you off - there's plenty to like in there!
@@foreverblueclassicsIf this is an example of the action, it would take a lot to "put me off."

Great scene but not quite sure why the 'Greatcoat Man' also shot the guy helping him at the end?
He wanted it all for himself!
You should have listened to the Lieutenant Larry Hagman's character!!! Admittedly the Germans did have it way too easy, like the US troops are driving into their weapons. A pity those that survived didn't have M1 Garand Rifles which is really what they should have been armed with considering they are supposed to be Rangers. Those M1 Carbines just don't have the punch.
It's a great movie for all that!
Good combat scene, tight shot types and editing, despite some weapon inaccuracies as pointed out, aka US M1 Carbines didn't have curved magazines until the 50's, etc. For those not familiar with the film as mentioned, they didn't want to be seen as being civilian spies as spies are shot when captured so they wore their Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager Tunics under their Denison Smocks, along with having Para Helmets, (Michael Caine wore the Airborne Maroon Beret for a while), trousers, boots, and STEN SMG's. By this time though 'the game was up' so they discarded their Denison Smocks and wanted to fight and die as Fallschirmjager not 'civilian spies'. They chose to impersonate Polish troops because of their German accents, rather than British troops.
An excellent summation!
