Loved this movie as a kid. I probably preferred it over the other "Eagle" movie (WED) at the time because of the squibs. I was thinking how as a guy born in 89 my generation of middle aged millennials were probably the last ones to watch movies like this on TV and enjoy them. Movie making techniques got better over time but they stayed the same until the 90s. Where Eagles Dare, The Eagle Has Landed and To Hell and Back where produced in three different decades but could have been from any of them. I think I was 7 when I saw The Longest Day on TV at the weekend and kids were talking about it at school on a monday. We didn't really know anything else movie production was very much stagnant in a lot of movies until the 90s.
Cor, just look at that pub being wrecked. All that booze going everywhere. Crying shame. Who gets to pay the bill for damages? Uncle Sam or the Luftwaffe?
