- If you missed it, here's TMBG performing " Why Does the Sun Shine?" and " Why Does the Sun Really Shine?".
Wade through the late night host's intro and into the meat of the performance and find out what happens to antiquated office equipment and those school lunches your mother packed for you and never ate.
I liked how Flansburgh and Linnell are responsible enough to be like “oh no, we got it all messed up, so let’s make a two minute song saying we stated the wrong facts and correcting ourselves”,
They were just quoting "Stars: A Golden Nature Guide" anyway. It was the best New England children's science had to offer at the time.
My favorite thing is that they knew what a banger they made the first time and were like "Okay, most people are gonna like that one more, so we really need to emphasize how wrong it is."
Science found new breakthroughs
Our Sun will never morph into a supernova though 😂
The first tune is actually a cover! The original was a slow version by Hy Zaret And Lou Singer, from 1959.
I like how John Hodgman was also there, because there just aren't enough Johns already.
Well three Johns balance out the three Dans.
More Johns than you can shake a stick at!
@@TheHutchy01 Dan Hickey quit as drummer in 2004
Their arrangement of that first song is one of the best I've ever heard
flans gets SO into it this time around, its funny
This version of why does the sun really shine is so amazing, flansburgh owns so hard
I learned this song in 6th grade earth science and remembered it for my college astronomy class :D
Forget that song.
"the sun is a quagmire

The sun comes from the nuclear reaction of bologna sandwiches? I knew it!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣
well, yeah. our sun is the furnace that build the basic atoms that became the accretion disc of matter from which our entire solar system, bologna sandwiches included, was formed. this is actually accurate.
woohoo! johns!
I miss Craig!!
I miss Craig!!!
As a plasma physicist myself, plasma is a gas; simply ionized, always has been. I guess some of my more recent peers thought to embellish themselves with the fourth state of matter skit.
Not liquit Not Salad?? LOL
2:14 wait...PC?
I used to make money selling plasma!
they remind me the Weezer, tmbg are great
No. Not weezer.
virgin weezer vs chad tmbg
Yea they're like Weezer if Weezer wasn't shit
The sun is actually very close to earth is the same size as the moon n the earth is a flat plain that's very easy to prove
I get it it's a "comedy" show bit this was butchered
These guys are the poor man's Weird Al.
I'd better get a screenshot of this comment for the official "Worst Takes Of 2022"
Weird Al would disagree
Weird Al is the poor man's Weird Al. He advocated for piracy of his own movie recently on twitter 🤣
@@maiabonesI don't know, I think he's a genuinely cool guy. Though I'm sure he wouldn't want people using his name to insult TMBG!
This take is even funnier when you realize that Weird Al is a huge fan of TMBG
i love you song
