Bobby man, I bumped into you review 5-6 months ago. I was of course looking to get a V50 or S60. Took me a while to decide. In the end it was a 2008 V50 2.4i with 96,000km on it for a price of new Axia 😂
@@FadzliRealtor so that my daughters can drive it too. Right, no rear AC vent but most of the time rear seat no occupant. If you find a decend condition one, don't think twice. Just grab it. You'll love the 5 cylinder sound. I am fortunate the car was in mint condition. It has clocked 124000km. Last service at Federal Auto Glenmarie...sakit gigi. I have only changed 2 front tires, rear & front stabilizer links, OEM front brake pads. It drives wonderfully. Audio..superb.
@@ZK-hh2or THanks for the response. So no issue at all with the car? I found a seller RM30k, he showed me that he does have an aircon vent under the front seats. Not sure if that will actually be helpful especially for my baby in a rear facing car seat, not to mention the smell from the shoes that of the back passengers. Such an odd place to place an aircon vent.
@@ZK-hh2or I'm a proud owner of Volvo S40 2.4i. car year is 2005, bought it back in 2013 with 110k km on it. Still running like a new horse and reaching 350k km very soon. I have to agree with you, the 5 cylinders engine sound is priceless. That little growl sound u get when you kickdown the engine or even naughty when u shift the Geartronic.
Hi Bobby, when you mentioned about Asian vs euro car servicing interval. Mileage does not really matter. 5k vs 20k mil service but end of the day you still need to adhere to the 6-12 months service. I know of car owners barely whacking 10k mil per year but that does not mean they don't need replace oil following service schedule. You are right about service prices though. Asian makes typically 400-800 for oil change depending grade. Conti would add another 200-300 on that price provided nothing major findings during diagnostics.
+Ivan Lim ok juat dont buy parts or go official volvo service center for anything as they upcharge quite a bit. Volvo sells a lot in china. Say for example light bulbs, if burnt its rm700 for one bulb. Buy from taobao, its rm70 for two bulbs. Other than that, servicing is similar. Dependant on what oil you buy, oil filter shouldnt exceed rm100. Cheers!
You're a Godsend Bobby!! Thank you very much for the advice :) I am still contemplating whether to get a second hand S60 or a brand spanking new elantra sport. However, it seem hyundai sime darby is rather slow with the media cars as no auto journo in malaysia has done any review on it yet.
+Ivan Lim i'll get the S60 if i were you. But do make plenty of research. It's a whole different class of car. Good luck and after buying, join us for a drive! We are organising one in september!
dear bobby, when ppl say european cars are expensive to maintain, they are not talking about servicing and wear n tear parts, they are talking about non wear and tear parts. for example, a water pump for my volkswagen costs 2k++ to replace, if you compare with japanese cars it cost only in the hundreds, my radiator fan cost 2k++ each too and i have to replace 2 (4k++) because both fans failed, while non conti cars their radiator only cost hundreds too this is what people are talking about, its not the wear and tear parts or servicing, yes we know its cheaper to service and wear and tear parts is slightly more expensive than non conti cars, but to repair a conti cars it costs much much more than non conti cars, and can you guarantee that conti cars their radiator fan, water pump etc dont spoil during the lifetime of the car? what if they spoil? yes its gonna cost thousands to repair, not hundreds!!!
+kevin lee you might wanna go ebay search around look at the prices and then maybe buy a parang to your mechanic. Provided you actually go back to dealer after your warranty .... lol
Adding to the maintenance portion that u mentioned on Japanese and European cars, I Want to add that Japanese cars are more reliable than European... haha...
But of cos. In general, European cars have their positive sides too, like better insulation, Low road noise, safer, etc. And the way they manufacture their cars are more precise, Japanese are very much more for "quickly build this shit and sell it"
Great review and very entertaining. Love the V50. Brilliant :-)
Nice review. By the way u look so innocent at the ending part where u ask us to subscribe.
Thanks for the review Sir..
Hi Bobby, compare 2.5 turbo and 2.0 the one u driven in this video, which one you think is more economical to drive?
Keegan, how was the coffee? BTW which roof rack and bike carrier are you using? Thanks in advance.
if I buy the V50 t5 model is worth it or is it good in terms of materials and power
Good review on these recon cars, Bobby!

Ache H why did you choose V50? I’m considering it too but it seems that there is no rear AC vent right?

Hi Bobby, how does the suspension of this beautiful car behave when it cruises on potholes? Does it make "kong kong" sound or "dup dup" sound?
+Mister Umbrella well this particular one has the original 16" wheels so its very comfy
Wei do review without letting me know lol. Btw its 145bhp and 170Nm, not 170bhp hahaha.
+Keegan Dorai lol
i was wondering, how come a 2.0l 4-pot NA put out figures of a 2.4l NA
Doubt cleared thanks to Keegan Dorai. THANKS! Great Review btw!
+Thinesh Chandra so sorry cos i briefly remembered keegan mwntioning 170 hahahahah
Hi Bob,How i wish Volvo make 7 seaters just like BMW and Merc
Norman Abdullah they already do with the new XC90
Hi Bobby. Would like to get your opinion. Is it worth getting a second hand 2011 Volvo S60? I have always liked this particular volvo model.
+Ivan Lim yes it is! But may i know what car do you drive now?
Thank you for your reply Bobby! Currently i'm driving a 2012 proton inspira.

+Xavier Lim cars with more featurea will have more things maintain
Bobby Ang not necessary bro.. I bet a Toyota Land Cruiser is more reliable than a BMW X5..
+Xavier Lim very true x 50000 times

European cars have better Fuel efficiency than Japanese cars too. Especially with the new technologies.
stop saying, OK> ok,
