Like the Mercedes diesels from that era, it's not uncommon to see a 240 or 740 with over 200-300K miles on them because of their toughness. I have nothing but love for Volvo as I daily drive a 1990s one that's been ridiculously reliable and starts every day. Most importantly, Volvo has saved my life and I've seen it endure impacts other cars wouldn't. I wouldn't put my family in anything but a Volvo.

I've owned 3 Volvos so far, an 01 S40 1.9T, an 03 S60, and a 05 S40 2.4i. All were solid cars but the 05 S40 was my favorite, fun to drive and kept up with the other popular luxury cars out there. Volvo is a solid option for those that like luxury cars and a car that is different from the common most popular Japanese brands. They are also super safe, I wrecked my 01 S40 into a tree on the driver's side, wiping out the tree completely, totaling the car, walked away without a scratch 🙏
