- Just outside of Leavenworth Washington is this incredible hike, to the top of Castle Rock. With amazing views of Tumwater Canyon & the Wenatchee river all the way to the top.
Half a mile in and we pass Loggers ledge where rock climbers practice their skills. Home to Washingtons first multipitch technical rock climb by Fred Becky. (1948) It is also where my dear friend Jeff gives the kids a little lesson in mountain rescue training.
The hike is 629 vertical feet, and roughly 1.8 miles up. Its great for kid adventures to learn and play on. With a super rewarding lunch spot at the top!
From west Leavenworth the trail head is about 2.7 miles down Highway 2 in Tumwater Canyon. An easy gravel parking lot on the right side of the road.
Great video and fantastic views from the top. Great work Jess and an awesome effort from.your kiddos making it to the top.👍👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much! The kids worked hard to get up there. Overcoming some fears and pushing their physical ability. I was really proud!
@@WanderJessica Well they will treasure these trips as they get older as it's not a day sitting at home searching tv or playing games. It's being outside and being adventurous and spending quality time with their awesome Mum. That's a bond and connection that no one can ever take away from.you.
Beautiful views!!
I agree!
I always driving past that spot- thanks for sharing!
Thank you for checking it out! It was a fun adventure.
Great video as always. I liked the life lesson you gave about hiking to not only appreciate and love nature, but also teach kids to push through discomfort. It is so true. I did the same think with my two kids when they were young, and now that they are grown they thank me and tell me how much they miss doing that. Keep up the good work.
It is such a great way to learn that lesson! I think it helps them build strength of character. I hope my munchkins will value the lesson as much as yours do.
Thank you so much!
Sweet trek! Last Feb I snowshoed up through Tumwater. Looks like even more fun in the sun.
Thanks so much! It was lots of fun. But snowshoeing in Tumwater sounds like a really cool adventure as well.
Beautiful shot at the 4:30 Edit: Those snow cover mountains are alluring!
They are so gorgeous! You’ve gotta see them irl sometime.
Wow. That place looks amazing. I need to go check that out. We were just talking about how long I've been using you for my hair...and I had been coming to you before your Grand Canyon trip...so that's 5+ years ago. That's freaking crazy.
That's cool to have someone who knows cool shit to share like plants etc.
Nice text transitions

3:42 she's mocking him, and the whole experience. She will later regret this, and look back at it as a fond memory. Perhaps even return in her later years, maybe with her kids. And they will have NO appreciation of the experience! The circle will be complete!!! lol
She was not mocking anyone, she’s a little girl. And she by the way was thrilled to of completed that hike. And absolutely adores Jeff and loves visiting him. So go ahead and move along because you’re wrong.
@@WanderJessica I apologize
