My father took me on a road trip it California and we stopped here in Colorado. Hands down the most beautiful, lovely, peaceful places I've been. Need to revisit with my family

I spent summer vacations in Cripple Creek through the 1970's. So much has changed. The streets lined with turquoise are now paved with asphalt. The casinos and people are everywhere, the cliffs I climbed below the blue house have been blasted flat, and the area with all the open mine shafts, beautiful views and mine dumps has been turned into a giant hole in the ground, the old timers are gone. Do they have the gunfight theater anymore? It used to be so quiet..... I'm afraid to go back.

I lived in Cripple Creek....My " Ma" Norma Geraghty & my Dad, Charlie Geraghty both owned Ice Cream Shops in Cripple Creek. We even stayed at the Westward Ho for a few months. I miss Cripple Creek & Colorado....DESPERATELY 💔

I lived there from 1974-77, I used to get ice cream at the General Store on the south side of Bennett.

I visited Cripple Creek in 1985, when around 40 people lived there. I stayed at the Imperial Hotel, in a corner room with floor to ceiling windows and no curtains. At first, I felt exposed, but I realized that there was nobody to spy on me.

When I was desk clerk there in 1975 I lived in room 67, on the third floor at the southwest corner. I had 2 windows one on the south side, the other on the west. It had the best views in entire hotel. I know, I been in every room in that hote.
