One of the 70's new style of gritty western , dark and downbeat .
Different type of western..worth watching.
A few years ago, I bought a DVD copy of this movie and it looked like this. My only wish is that the first 10 minutes or so had corrected video. Have to admit, my favorite part of the movie was the opening scenes and the desert scene which lasted for the first 10 minutes showing the bank robbery and the horse chase with the horse stunts Well done to the riders and their horses. From there, it shifts to a Hallmark channel movie. Sam Elliott was an evil manipulator, and he learned that his way didn't work.
@NEVERmoreLenoreEVER Not saying the horses were not hurt. You might be right. Way back when this movie was released, an animal rights group was upset because the crew used trip wires and killed a couple of horses and abused a couple more [ beeen a long time ago and I can't give a source ] while practicing and filming the movie. As for the crew, they were doing their jobs. just because a man can ride a horse does not mean that he'll treat the horse decently or make him a good person.

I was just thinking the same thing and wondering if they were kin folk. Last time I saw Vera Miles acting was on the 9th season of Little House. Still beautiful she was.

I couldn't figure out which one was Sam Elliot so I just Mosyed on down the road...
Has anyone else noticed that...Since the beginning of the the New Year, we can't watch anything on U-Tube without being BOMB-BARDED with commercials?..Can no longer even get settled in to anything and a commercial spoils the moment and ŕeally the whole program..it's become a real pain...

وبالتالي بعد ان كلت وملت من مواقفه وتصرفاته
معها لحد اليأس..
اطلقت عليه الرصاص ليودع الحياة..
وتقوم هي(مولي) بتسليم جثته الى العمدة او
المامور (ممثل السلطات) وتبرأ ذمتها انها كانت
اسيرة السجين جوني ساعة الهروب الذي بات منتهي الصلاحية بالموت المحقق...

لمن يفكر تفكير جوني والعشيقة مولي..
نشكر المخرج ومنتج الفيلم والكوادر التي انجحت بأخراجه وأنتاجه..

Johnny blinded by his own selfishness. Could of changed his ways, been redeemed, started over, had it all. Instead he got nothing, but what a he deserved.
She redeems herself, and gets a do over. It's a story about redemption..

I agree with the others. This is the only Sam Elliott movie I ever saw that I hated his character he was playing!!!! Also very difficult to watch, slow n boring n depressing as well!!! Wouldn't watch again ever!!

A low budget clickbait, with Sam Elliot's name as a come on ....
Was expecting something more heart-warming from Sam Elliott. "Johnny's" behaviour spoiled the film for me - except for the last minute or so. Watching this prick act like a goon for an hour and a half was disappointing. Why "Molly" stayed with him was puzzling too.
When they use Gods name in vain I'm out. It's not worth watching their Garbage.
