I used to think that and my husband's family was so awful my therapist said it's not true, wife or husband always first and there has to be mutual respect only but you do not marry the family!!! And don't have to be with the mother in law every weekend either because it's toxic too😅

@@Karime70 i'm pretty sure every family and relation is different, however I'm not talking about hanging out every weekend or just be respectful to each other, I'm talking about supporting your in-laws when there is an important loss in the family, when not the coolest things happen in life (death, sickness or any traumatic situation). The easy path is to be there only when everyone is happy
@@Karime70 yeah it's kind of with the assumption that there aren't toxic issues with the partner's family. But Mexican culture generally is more family oriented than USA when it comes to this stuff. More carne asadas and whatnot.

I would love to say yes right now, however since we just got engaged we still have to do all of the wedding planning and we aren't yet sure what the wedding will look like in terms of size or venue or cost. There are many unknowns and I don't want to make any promises that I can't keep.
