    Just bought my 2nd Optima...1st was a 2011 LX...now in the 2012 EX Premium...they actually feel quite different. 2011=sporty....2012=luxury...and not just from the options.
    Drives like a different car....quieter, heavier, more refined. And we love IT!

    Sometimes when I see hateful comments that are thrown at Kia, I want to laugh at them. They haven't even heard of Peter Shreyer. He designs all Kias now. He used to design for Audi, VW, and even Lambo. He designed the TT, Murcielago, and the new Beetle.

    I am seriously enjoying these reviews! I just started watching today, and I absolutely love them! Do you know when you you'll be doing a Drive Time review on the new Optima? And then of course the Kia Cadenza, and the Kia K9 (Kia Quoris overseas)?

    I've had a 2007 Hyundai Sonata GLS v6, and I'm quite satisfied with it. The warranty's finished now, but there are no major mechanical problems. The issues I do have are solved in the shop. I gained a substantial amount of confidence in Hyundai's vehicles and customer service after having the Sonata.

    BEST LOOKING MID-SIZED SEDAN IN THE CLASS, even the turbo version and hybrid version keeps the same look cuz Kia is confident of Peter Schreyer (ex Audi designer who designed lambo currently vice president of KIA)'s perfect design

    I'm pretty open to all car companies, but I've always disliked Korean cars. I must say in the past few months, I've really fantastic looking cars out of Kia, and Hyundai. I hope their long run reliability is good too.

    keep in mind people, that this is one of the newest midsize sedans on the market, so of course they're gonna offer more than the others, because the others have been on the market longer. the true leader will be decided at the end of next year when the new camry, accord, altima, and fusion have all been debuted and on the road.

  • @DevPack

    No, RIGHT NOW, in April of 2011, the Optima is best. It doesn't matter that newer versions of the others are coming out; when they do they may knock this down. But right now that is irrelevant. C'mon, there will always be a newer model in a segment right around the corner, right?
    And I can ABSOLUTELY think of many aging platforms that are better than the newer ones from competitors.

  • @boy638
    @boy638 Před 13 lety +1

    200hp is alot for a 2.4 liter engine. And the standard equipments are plenty! Im curious to see how these quickly improving korean brands will be in 5 years time!

  • @ssj4goldengogeta
    @ssj4goldengogeta Před 13 lety

    @bg1379 it is relevant because it is fact, plus, when those models come out next year, all the true competitors in this class of cars will be all new. and we will see who is the best model next year. i never once said anything was wrong with either the optima nor the sonata. Don't assume i'm saying these cars aren't top right now because they clearly are. i was just making a statement about the future, for consumers so they can decide which is best for them when they decide to buy.

    Kia has stepped up big time. My mother had a 99 Sephia and that car ran good as long as she kept up with basic maintenance(oil changes, tires, etc.). In a 2009 consumer reports reliability survey Hyundai/KIA were ranked 4th. They were just 1 point short of Toyota . Kia's will run just as long as a Honda if properly maintained. A 24k Kia is equal to a 29k Accord. You get a longer warranty with Kia as well. Only downside may be resale value and unless you sell your car in 5 years after buying!!

    It used to be NUMBER 1 selling car in Korea about a year ago, not sure about it now since Korea I heard have released whole bunch of new models lately, but the car I heard is that good. Otherwise it wouldn't have been no.1 to begin with, beating out everything, would it? Though I think Sonata is doing much better in US than Optima due to the American preference of Hyundai over Kia(Though I am more of a Kia guy than a Hyundai)

  • @TheTallMan50

    @khunopie Kimchi? On a diet like that it's uncertain whether or not the Americans would produce better cars, but they would most certainly be running to the bathroom.

  • @khunopie
    @khunopie Před 13 lety +1

    The Koreans are design geniuses! They say that IQ and diet are connected. Perhaps if US automotive engineers were fed a diet of kimchi and dog soup they too would produce better cars!

    @bg1379 oh by the way, you have a reputation for being rude to people just because they disagree with you. and i've experienced it first hand from you. so do us all a favor and shove it with your comments. all that drama is not called for. you getting all worked up and creating an argument with a person over a comment, does more damage to you and your body than it ever could, to whom ever you trying to put down.
