Many many other talented drivers of the era that had the real “human” touch and unquestionable gifted car control but he also had the “Vatanen Touch”Thanks for sharing this on here.
Absolutely a superstar. One of the top three great rally drivers of this period and all Finns. Ari, Hannu and Henry. Peugeot T16 showed the Audis a clean pair of heels on mostvoccsdions. . Favourite event 1985 Monte and I saw him countless times in Escorts, Mantas, and, T16s. A brilliant ambassador for the sport too. A super hero.
A GREAT rally driver. An even greater man/human-being. :) I know Henri won the Monte with a ''bent'' car in '86 was incredible but I think Ari,winning the Monte,beating Walter was unbelievable! :O
