Brilliant! I have fingers like bananas and this is by far the easiest method of setting up that I’ve seen. UK West Midlands.
OMG, I love you :) I have been struggling with fireline cut into individual lines for the loom, you have just made my day. Thank you so much.

Amazing video. I got same exact bead loom and got little frustrated because instructions that it comes with (doesn’t come in my native language, unfortunately), but this video made things straight to me.
So glad the video was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Great video, much easier than cutting a thread for every warp thread! That said, does this method leave issues with finishing as far as having enough slack at either end (without wrapping all the way around the loom for extra lenght) for the sake of braiding/tying off the ends/etc.?
Hi Losian. Here's the answer from Rose, "Yes, it can cause issues in having enough warp thread left at the end of your piece for finishing. Of course it depends on what finishing method you want to use. Most often I finish by weaving all those warp threads back into the piece, so you must leave about 3” of unwoven warp thread on either end for that purpose.
Sometimes I finish by tying knots and glueing the knots. Don’t need so much leftover thread for that. Sometimes I just fold the leftover threads over a backing glueing them in place and then sandwiching another layer over them to hide. Of course, the easiest thing to do is to warp all the way around your loom." Great question Losian!
@@FireMountainGems is there a video for what you just described. Beginner here and new customer of your supplies! Just received my first order a week or so ago and I'm very pleased! Can't wait to order more!
What is the best beading Mat to use and the best way to sort your beads? Following the pattern could get confusing. Thanks
There are a lot of great options. You can check out our options for bead boards and mats here: www.firemountaingems.com/shop/kwtoolstemplatesdisksandboards?sortby=bestmatch
does anyone have any videos on how too prepare such a loom for projects longer then the default length? working on a longer project but need too have more space. specficially I'm making a guitar strap for myself as a project. but i need alot more space then this.
Unfortunately we do not have a video for that. You may be able to find longer looms specifically for those extra long projects. If you are using a loom like the one in the video, you can wrap the thread all the way around the bottom of the loom and then rotate it around as you go. That wouldn't give you the full length of a guitar strap, but you could create multiple lengths and then join those lengths together afterwards.
What size of beads do you usually use on this loom?
The size of bead is up to you. The first thing to consider prior to picking the beads to use on the loom is the dimensions of your project. Using larger beads won't give as much space as using smaller beads would. There isn't really a set size of bead as it all depends on the final piece you're looking to create.
Why is the first thread always end up loose? I keep the same tension, it's tied down, etc.
Yes! It's such a pain. Have you found a solution?
Could you please demonstrate how to set up loom for a long hat band please? Thanks
For a longer piece, you could wrap all the way around the loom underneath and just rotate the project as you go. We do not have a video to demonstrate this, but perhaps we will have one in the future!
where do you buy that loom?
Hi Shirley. We offer the loom. Here's a link to it: www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h203006tl
I want that loom
Might be just Me, but this gal could be a voice double for Cathy Bates lol....... Thanks for the vid
We can definitely hear the similarities! Thanks so much for watching the video!
with larger beads, would You just set it up on every second line in the loom? I used to do this when i was much younger and trying to get back to it, but Am def out of practice. I'm using 3mm beads and seems to be crowded...

Yes, if you are using larger beads you can set up the thread on every other notch!@@user-iy2su1wt5u
