You are head and shoulders above the other jewelry instructors.
Oh, Linda, you are so kind. Thank you.
Great demo. I started making jewelry about 30 years ago or so, and we did not have crimp beads. We used the clamshell bead tips, tied a couple of knots in our beading thread and fed them into the bead tips and close the bead tips up. To this day I still use this technique, and even have some of my first pieces that I made this way that I still wear.
Thank you so much. I have done it this way in the past but I find crimp beads so much easier. I'm always worried that my knots will come undone, especially when I use Tiger Tail. Do whatever makes you happy and works.
Same here. Sometimes the crimp bead does not hold.
I'm self taught and the way you just described is how I do it too. Because it works. Cool to know someone else does it this way too. 🙂
@@frankiefurbag9030 thank you. It's interesting that your crimp beads aren't holding. I wonder if you are squeezing them hard enough.
@@jessicaday9196 thank you. Do it the way that works best for you, that's my motto.
I love this video because it fills my need for an occasional refresher on finishing jewelry. Just a reminder on the basics. Like reading the card on a plane while the attendant tells you about belts, exits, bathrooms, etc.
Thank you, Judith. Yes, it's always good to watch the attendant for a refresher!
Totally agree. 🙂
Thank you.@@SuSang666
I love it that you tell us the sizes of the beads and crimp tubes. I can just call and order them!
Thank you, Cynthia. I'm glad you find that helpful.
This is the best tutorial I've ever watched on any project. You have a good voice, good delivery, clear details. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that.
I agree! I just found her!
Thank you so much, Cheryl.
Your voice is lovely to listen to I found this tutorial very easy to follow! Thank you for posting, finishing off the ends neatly has been my bane. These tips are very helpful!
Thank you so much. I'm so pleased that you found this helpful.
Awesome tutorial. So clear and well explained. And so much information shared !
Thank you so much Carey-Lou.
Hi Carol. I just found your channel and subscribed. I love your comment about teaching people the "right" way to crimp. My philosophy is there is a theoretical way and a practical way. Theoretically, the "right" way to crimp is to crush twice. Practically, a single crush can secure the wire. If the end result is the same, then practically is as good as theoretically. Striving for perfection is a sure-fire way to take the joy out of a beginner's creative process. I think an experienced crafter will develop their own practical methods that work for them. And, hahahahah, on the crimp covers. I struggle with these lil forkers as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you so much, Fern. I really appreciate your comments about the "right way". I think, as a beginner, you just have to do whatever works. Once you're more experienced you can experiment with the different methods. Thank you for the subscription. Welcome to the community.
I’m trying to be better about posting comments because I often forget to. I absolutely love your channel! Your art is beyond lovely. The way you teach us is so clear and concise. And your personality is lovely as can be. Thank you for sharing yourself with us❣️💞
Thank you so much 😀 I really appreciate that comment, Cher. I struggle with that too as I watch most videos on my television.
@@The_Stylish_Maker I have a ton of my great grandmother’s “costume jewelry” that my grandma gave me after she passed away. It’s all so beautiful to look at and yet it’s nothing I would really wear. You’ve given me so much inspiration and ideas of how to reconstruct so much of her jewelry into new pieces. Thank you again💞
@@cheri6785 oh that's fantastic. I really appreciate you tell me that too.
You're a good teacher. I have big hammy hands and have a propensity to explode the glass seed beads adjacent to my crimps when I'm working. This helped.
Thank you. I'm glad that it helped.
Thank you! Such helpful demonstrations for dealing with crimps and covers and the magical crimps!
Thank you so much, Barbara. Yes, the magical crimping plier is just that - magical!
Thanks Carol I'd like a tutorial on the bracelet please . Thanks for your great tips xx
Thank you, Poppy. Which bracelet was your favourite?
Excellent tutorial! I’ll have to check out the bead bandit….never heard of it before! Use magical crimps all the time 😀
Thank you so much, Carolyn. I came across the bead bandit by accident but it was a really great find. I love them.
I've been beading for a long time but I still learn something new every time I watch!
Aw, you are so kind, Sharon. Thank you.

You’re welcome 😊 I found the bead bandit a few years ago while I was browsing Beadsmith's catalogue and immediately fell in love with them. Thank you.
A wonderful intro for this novice! Thank you and keep these coming.❤
Thank you so much Marian. I do intend to keep them coming. 😀

Excellent video. Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Crimp covers are my kryptonite as well so I completely understand how you feel!!!
Thank you, Corina. I really appreciate you telling me that. I'm definitely getting better with them but they are just so fiddly.
Thankyou for the clear, concise instructions and physical demonstration, very helpful.
You're very welcome! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this tutorial.
Thank you for making these wonderful explanatory videos. I've watched two so far and can't wait to watch more.
Thank you Victoria. I'm so pleased you are enjoying the videos.
Thank you for going through the different crimping techniques!
You are very welcome, Susan. Thank you.
Wow, great tips! I've never even heard of bead bandits. Never to late to learn something new.
Thank you so much. I'm glad I could show you something new.
I love all those crimp cover ideas especially the bead idea. Thank you so much.😊
Thank you, Diana. Yes, I like that one too. The possibilities are endless.
Excellent by far. I will watch more later. The crimp bead instruction was wonderful.
Glad you enjoyed it, Cathy. Thank you.
Those crimp covers are my nemesis as well. Lol Those large hole beads to cover the crimp tube are great but with small bead designs it doesnt work as well. On large bead designs those work beautifully. That magical crimp tool is magical indeed. I've got to get one of those! Beautiful pieces and great demo. Thank you for sharing and reminding me how much I miss and love making jewelry.
Thank you so much, Kellie. You are very welcome. Yes, am in love with the magical crimper - I wonder what I did without it most days. Glad to know that others find crimp covers hard to use as well. I've had lots of people say the same thing. Thanks for watching.
I love this tutorial! I’m very new to jewelry making but your video makes it look super easy. Thank you!
You are so welcome! I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. I aim my tutorials at beginners so you should find lots of projects to create in the library.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!😊
My pleasure! Thank you for watching.

You are very welcome Metta. I'm glad you are finding my tutorials useful. I'm working on one for the bracelets which should be out this week. In the meantime, there's plenty of the basics here on the channel already so you can watch them. Really appreciate your kind words.
@@The_Stylish_Maker I really appreciate yours. I'm in a lot of pain and it does wonders for me to create something unique. I can order later in the month, I want to make and sell but have to learn more first. Seems like I've know you a while, you have that kind of personality. BLESSINGS.

This was excellent - I have been waiting 6 years and this is the first and BEST description on crimp beads. Thank you so very much.

You are welcome, Pat. Thank you.
I love listening to you.. Informative and very easy to follow.. The accent is definitely a plus!!!! Ty
Thank you so much, Marisa. I'm really pleased that you liked this one.
This is the best tutorial I have seen thus far! Nicely done! Thank you so very much!!
Aw, thank you so much, Patricia. That's so kind of you.
These are awesome tips. I do use crimp tunes with crimp covers. I have a trick to closing crimp covers and they always come out perfectly aligned by turning it to the closed seam after you've got it closed and using your pliers gently squeeze the side that sticks out until it is flush with the other side and makes more of a bead shape. It really reduces the visibility of the seam. Ive always folded my crimp tubes so that the cover fits over the crimp better and one side won't poke out from the cover which I've experienced. I love that you feed the end piece of beading wire down a few beads before cutting. In my experience it adds security and keeps the ends straight. I love your videos. I've been making jewelry for 15 years. I will have to watch your video on crimp beads because i have some Hill Tribe silver crimp beads that I want to use.
Thank you so much, Valarie. It's always good to gain extra information. I think my problem with the crimp covers is just that I need to practice but I'm too impatient to do it!
I place the crimp inside the crimp cover , add a drop of hypo cement, set it aside to dry, then close as above. No fumbling!
Thank you@@barbaraseville4139. I've heard of others doing that as well.
Beginning beader. I am so greatful for your simple and clear instructions. You are lovely. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Cheryl. I really appreciate that.
Have just starting watching and enjoying your videos and detailed instructions.

VERY informative tutorial, you covered all the bases! Thank you so much,
Thank you so much, Mary Kay.
I learned so much. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much, Claudia.
Never heard of Bead Bandit! Been beading since I was 8 or 9. Am now 80. Thank you for this video. Very clear and understandable
Thank you Sandra. I'm glad I could still show you something new.
SO many thanks for you & all I’ve learned from your channel!
Thank you so much, Sherri. I really appreciate that.
Using the larger metal bead as a crimp cover is such a great idea😊
Thank you, Carol. I do love this technique but don't use it very often, simply because I forget to.
You did a great job of explain. Great teacher
Thank you so much, Gloria. I really appreciate that.
Absolutely needed this tutorial! Thank you, and I love the screw tube.😊
Oh that's great. I'm so pleased that you found this useful. Thank you for watching.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I am new to making necklaces and these crimp beads, crimp tubes and clam shell covers have been confusing for me. This clarifies the procedure a little better and has given me a couple of options that I didn't even know I had. 👍😊
Thank you so much. I'm glad it was helpful.
Very, very good demonstration! Finally others ways to cover those crimp beads. I love the 6mm bead to cover them and I am going to try that way. Thank you!!
You are so welcome! I'm so pleased that you found it helpful.
Great info. I stopped making jewelry during vivid years. I didn't wear jewelry so stopped. I'm getting back into it now. I am watching videos to refresh my memory. I like your style so I subscribed.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. I own 2 cats! Rosie likes to come to work with me and leaves muddy paw prints on my desk.
Oops, vivid should have been covid. L0L. It's difficult keeping my cats out of the beads. Have you watch them like a hawk.
Haha, I thought you had written that because you didn't want to say "that word" as many platforms just block it. I have the same problem with the beads and the cats too.😊
Thank you. I have never heard of the Bead Bandit. That is amazing and so beautiful.
You are so welcome, Geraldine. Thank you.
Excellent video! Thank you.
You are welcome! Thank you.
You’re an amazing instructor. Thank you for your In-depth explanations. And your humility. I can’t wait to see more. ❤

Thank you so much, Cynthia. Did you watch this one? czcams.com/video/JbkWBBTpm-Q/video.htmlsi=sb5nMgGsxszj8VGM
Thankyou , I learnt a couple new ways to use crimp tubes and covers . I stopped making jewelry after 10 years but watching this makes me want to get out my supplies and make more jewelry. Will be watching more of your videos for sure.
Wonderful! Thank you, Kim. Go on, do it! I'm sure you will enjoy starting up again.
Very good demonstration..thank you
Thank you.
A very interesting lesson on costume jewellery. Thanks so much. Best regards from Malta.
Glad you enjoyed it, Mary. Greetings from New Zealand.
You saved the best technique for last. I thought for a minute there you were not going to mention your magical pliers. I love this tool so much & use it all the time. I've used crimp covers before & the clam cover thingie but not since I got a pair of magical crimping pliers. Once the bead is formed it doesn't cut into the tiger tail either which I thought it might but no its as strong as anything. Thank you for all your tips, tricks & tutorials they're just the best.
Thank you so much. I couldn't talk about crimping without the Magical Crimping Tool! It's always my favourite. I concerned that it might not be as strong initially but I actually think it's stronger. And it looks so pretty.
I will continue to watch from time-to-time. Very beneficial information and very pretty jewelry
Awesome! Thank you, Cathy.
I am so happy I discovered your channel!! You are absolutely the best jewerly teacher/instructor I have found online!!! I am going to watch everything single video you have uploaded. Hi. I just want to say thank you for breaking down on the variety types of crimp bead covers. My favourite are the Magic Crimping Pliers. I had them for almost 10 years & it felt like yesterday when I first used it & squished my sterling silver crimp bead into a crumpled paper-like bead. It comes in 2 different sizes & 2 different types (1 for regular crimping beads & the other sterling silver beads). Thanks for sharing your video & have a wondrrful day.
Thank you, Trelelah Lee. I didn't know that you could get one for sterling silver crimps. That's good to know.
Thank you so much for the idea to just squish crimp beads flat! Have used them with the clamshells before and find it impossible to get that doggone crimp tool close enough to get the beads tight. I LOVE the idea of just squishing them😃 THANK YOU!
Thank you so much, Sam. I'm glad you found this helpful, although the purists among us will scold. 😜
Thanks for the refresher. I always have trouble with crimp covers too...they always ended looking bent or over-closed.... Have never seen the bandits before! They look great. And you look absolutely lovely in your purple outfit and jewellery. I love it!
Oh thank you so much. Here are the links to the jewellery I'm wearing in the video.
