Two weeks of ownership and two days of work in the Lowe's parking lot, and we're here! Ready to hit the road in our tiny but mighty Subaru camper. It might not be 'fancy' but it is functional as heck, and I can't wait to see all of the adventures we get up to this year :)

The Best Life for You and Your Girl is exactly what You are Creating ! I am an old man who can honestly say I Am So Proud of You !!!😊
I remember when your channel was named Alex Lives Well. I hope you go back to that name. It puts you at the top of my subscription list.
That is a super functional build Alexandria. As long as it provides what you want/need and you have a safe place to sleep, keep dry, etc., you really don't need much more. Terra gave me a chuckle when you first started the video because she was definitely in groundhog mode digging away under your car lol. Stay well and enjoy those get-away weekends into the mountains. Have fun!
Great tour with reasons for your Subie build out. Bummer on the damage to your car while parked on street! Have a great learning time going to grad school! Looking forward to your continued build out, car and apartment, plus your outdoor adventures.
Love seeing Terra (Tara?) resting in the shade of the car!
Hi there Alex - very well done on your very basic yet functional build - I wish you and Tara many happy miles and camps in it. After watching I then watched Vyanca Ventures - another solo lady in her car-camper, and would definitely recommend you watch her car tour - it's AMAZING how much she has gotten into her car and yet it feels spacious. You could pick up some excellent ideas from her build, tho obviously different in that she lives in her car full time. She has some really clever ideas. 🦋
I love this! I've been watching you for over a year now and you've been an inspiration to me. I'm now travelling around Australia solo living out of my SUV, a 2004 Nissan X-Trail. I've also started making videos for CZcams. I'm 3 months into the adventure and your videos continue to inspire and educate me. Thank you.
as long as your happy im happy😍
When I watch your channel I always get inspired to take my dog, a mattress and some food, chuck it into my VW caddy and head out for a campingtrip and paint :D But I rarely do :S
Great job. Love the simplicity of your setup. Can’t wait to go camping.
Good job on turning a Subaru in to a home
you and Maddie are my favorites, I really enjoy your videos
Yay Subaru! In have the bug net window covers and the magnet bug net one for the sunroof (can’t tell if yours has sunroof). They are great for warm weather airflow!
This is inspiring me to do something simple like this in my Honda Fit. When I first got it, I thought I would do a lot of car camping. I think I could build something like this.
you 100% can!! Depending on what you need/want, you could make a build that is even more simple, or "no build"! All you need is the basics to keep you safe & having fun out there, and I hope you have the chance to soon :)
Keep at it Alexandria. Pets for Tara. Get the fridge (iceco.)
I love your build. Every essential need is covered.
Love the conversion you did a great job.
Love the conversion you did a great job. ❤
it doesn't take much to fit it out and you don't really need to do a build , I camp in both my suv and/or trailer. I'm on the east coast(Delaware) and I wanted to travel to Florida on a week vacation so going a thousand miles pulling a trailer wasn't going to work it would take for ever to get there so I got a cot some containers that could fit underneath, a fridge w/Bluetti eb70 and off I went, because I do pull the trailer with this vehicle I had the ability to use a storage deck on the back. It was a great trip, I ended up after getting a better cot that i could sit up on without bending my neck and one of those cheap plastic drawers from walmart, and I don't know if you ever get it exactly the way you want it, one thing I changed I realized after a rainy trip was I needed some type of canopy, because I took my german shepherd the inside of car got wet and it was very damp inside and temps were to drop below freezing that night so I went home. My next car camping trip is to the NY Adirondacks in July, hopefully temperatures hold true to average or I may be sweating to death, no german Shepherd on this trip don't want to chance the heat with all her fur, I'm bringing my Dalmatian. How's Tara doing, she looked like she was having fun digging under the car.
Happy Camping
Like the basic build sometimes simple is best as far as the bumper if you can afford it I would definitely upgrade now. Also may I suggest you get an dash camera one that is still active even if the car is off then you would have proof of who hit you
Too bad about the car, at least it can be fixed. The build looks ideal to me.Great job.
Nice job Alex ❤
Love it! I have a Subaru Outback and this is inspiring !
Good video!
Amazing job!
Nice work! 💚
I love your simple build!
Thank you! 😊
❤❤ very well put together ❤❤ hi Tara 🐾 sorry about the hit and run
Awesome video
Best wishes Alex 😇👍💯
Nice job.
Ñice simple practical build. Ive done 2 in Subarus and weight is definately a factor. Good job both build and presentation.
Nice build! Hope your car is repaired quickly! Take care 😊❤️
Terra trying to crawl under the car like she did the truck.:)
she is suchhhhh a hound for getting *under* every vehicle we have owned haha
So sorry about about your new car. Thanks for the tour 👍
Thank you for mentioning the impact on the environment 😊 Leave No Trace!
It's so important to take care of these spaces to make sure that they are still here for the future :)
@@SheRoamsWild It's SO important! I agree!
Hey Alex Happy Sunday and Sorry About Your Car 😞😥
Nice job. 🎉👌🏾👍🏾🦋💕👏🏾
This is silly, but have you described anywhere how you made the table in the backseat?
Hello to Terra !
Thanks for this . A lot of people cant afford a big build . This is very functional . Your bed looks very comfortable . Where did you put your cooler when you made the double bed ?

Alexandria i am with you on living more simply. I lived in a converted school bus and then i was living with a friend sharing expenses for 2 years. Now i live in a apt. With less of stuff. Subaru is a great vehicle
Sucks that someone hit and run.
Do you still have the tundra?
Do not take your car to A&J autobody in Englewood. My truck was there for 9 months and it stilll wasn't repaired properly when they gave it back to me. They're off of Evans.
How did Tara do sleeping in the SUV?
Dang that sucks! Some people just blow.
Hey Alex, sorry about your new car getting smoked. Some people are f'n jackasses. Looks like it will be a great weekend/short trip setup. That's all you need and your bear proofed. Have an awesome week!!!
9:12 Do you have an Amazon affiliate link?
Starry hilder number 2😅 just kidding
Are you selling or releasing the build info for this build? Measurements for those of us who want to do the same build for our Subaru outbacks?
I wasn't planning on it, but that would be fun! I'd be happy to draw up some plans, and could post them to the community tab here :)
Hay there i’m sorry to hear about your car getting hit❤
It's a bummer, but I am just glad that no one got hurt!
She ROAMED Wild. Past tense.
I really appreciate the simplicity of your build 😊I feel like this is very doable for me and very budget friendly. Many thanks for putting this video together 💚
Not sure how you got your passenger side damaged. Were you parked on the wrong side of the road?
My area has parking on both sides of the street on weekends :)
And you would have no problem carrying a tent should you be so inclined fora bit longer stay or meeting a friend at the campsite,
I guess that how cars lose 20% of there value within the first year. Then you add another 10-30% for the accident; meaning the trade in value of you car could be as low as $15,000 "TODAY". Meanwhile Subaru going to push out the dent and put it back on the lot for $25,000 "FIRM".
thankfully its an older car, so I wont suffer that crazy depreciation 'driving it off the lot' like I would have new! It helps that I spent less than $15k on it to start with as well :)
Sorry about your car. My car was just hit by someone, luckily not as extensive as your, but, will need body work . Looks like they let their door go.
I want to come away from stressful life 😢
Sorry about your car 😢
Believe me I get it. I don't wanna camp at a spot in the woods with peoples crap around me but what's the environmental issue. Animals do their business wherever. So again, what's the environmental issue
