*I like how post is just chilling by the pool watching anthony do his review*
I get how this can be a disappointing album for those who prefer his rapping or for people who prefer a bit more of a unique sound, but I really liked it. The melodies and vocals are really pretty, the lyrical focus is great and mourning has been in my head all week
Mourning is such a catchy and incredible song to me, I love it so much. Reviews like this where I disagree with fantano always leave me wondering whether most bad reviews are just anthony not liking that kind of music anymore and projecting it onto the album instead of acknowledging its not his thing. How much of it is reviewing and how much of it is just incredibly subjective?

Yup this is the comment. Thank you sir.
This literally feels like a new "Swimming" review.
The album was amazing, sweet and really touching at times. I enjoy the new artistic direction Posty is taking and i believe he executed it really convincingly.
I was gonna say something similar ~ I wouldn't say it's as good as swimming, mostly because the second half blends together so much for me, but I feel he is just more of a fan of the Beerbongs and Bentleys era

I’m glad there are comments here like this because I absolutely love this album. It’s such a summer album and it’s starting to really come back into my rotation. Not a single skip on it.

I’m surprised Chemical made it into the favorites but not Mourning. Chemical was a worst track of the week when it came out as a single so must’ve grown on him.
Also Mourning was a favorite at release and a summer jam but no mention of it in this review is odd. Definitely one of the better tracks on here
Shows how inconsistent Fantano is
Think Chemical blows away Mourning tbh
Yea he did say he hated chemical and really liked mourning but I guess he changed his mind
he's always changing his mind like this. sure, people change opinions over time, but if he changes them so much so quickly then why even bother putting out reviews if they're rendered obsolete just a couple of months later?
I believe the tracks he mentions in the description as "FAV TRACKS" & "LEAST FAV TRACK" are in the context of the album. He liked Mourning on its own but prefers other songs in the grander scheme of things, like Chemical. He did not like Chemical as a standalone track.
I really liked this album. I hope posty keeps it going. Maybe he lean more heavy on a rock or metal sound in the next one. Would love to see that, since he is a very talented guitar player himself.

understand some criticisms, specially with the reverb but I think that a lot of the reverb fits well with his voice and I really like the way it sounds. I really like the album but I get it’s not for everyone. still 3/10 seems pretty low, specially when thats what he gave tct and this is regarded as a lot better than that one by nearly everyone I hear talking about it.

I don't think Anthony even really talked about reverb as a negative in this review. His issue was a lot more with the fact that it's wildly overproduced

Exactly 😂
To me its a nice 7/10 the only thing that really holds it back is the replay value because this is a better listening experience if you listen to the entire album and not picking out tracks except for ones like Chemical or Enough Is Enough that sound like intentional radio singles
Maybe it's safe to assume Posty tried to do what Anthony wanted him to do last time, but it ultimately fell short, in his opinion. No shame in that. You're making it sound like Anthony is blindly hating his music for no reason at all. Which I think is a stretch.

Haven't disagreed with Fantano in a while, and considering the new Travis Scott album dropped the same day, Post's album has been way more in rotation at home and in the car than Utopia. These songs have so much emotion, he's just being himself, and a lot of it resonated with me at a deeper level, struggling with a lot of the same issues, as do a lot of other people. Landmine, overdrive, chemical, don't understand, mourning, socialite, novacandy, all amazing. It's better than putting on a mask and pretending to be something your not just cause that's what the "fans" want. EDIT - The YT algorithm did not even suggest this review to me! And I'm an avid watcher of the channel, pretty sure it knew I'd disagree😅😅

This is FAR better than his last project easily. It strayed away from the hip hop for sure but I think Post needed that, a reset will only benefit him moving forward tbh.
I think you should really give it another listen. My first thoughts were that the album is not too creative and undercooked (although I still think it's a bit undercooked). Damn I thought this was his 2nd best album behind Hollywood's Bleeding
I enjoyed this record tbh. Artistically and stylistically it’s not great but I think it’s a good listen. Not a very game changing record like some of his previous work but all in all I think the album as a whole is good to listen to. It’s optimistic and bright but also pessimistic and dark at times. Post Malone can really change his style and sound and still be good at what he does.
C'mon Anthony don't hate on the music consumers who hate music.
His best album 10/10..
If Post Malone was black you would have given this Album a 10
If this was To Pimp A Butterfly, you would’ve given it a 10.
This is coming from a big Post Malone fan, and I have to say I quite enjoyed this album. The more personal direction is great, I love the inclusion of guitar on every song and the lack of features, and the highlights really shine, especially at the beginning. The problem is that it feels unfocused with its bloated track list, production that feels loud but hollow all the same, and the substance getting lost in the shuffle. I think this record could've been great if Posty cut down the track list to about 12, fleshed out those tracks better, and gave his narrative more thought and purpose. But then again, Mr. Melon gave Circles a Not Good way back when, so yeah, of course I'm gonna disagree with him.
My first hard disagree with fantano. While there are some I don’t care for on the album the songs, Laugh it Off, Too Cool to Die, Landmine, Chemical, Overdrive, Mounrning, and slightly Enough is Enough are all great songs to vibe too. The acoustics songs are pretty good too like the opener and green thumb. Very polished and glossy local bar songs while still having a bougie feel to them. You’d have to be a basement dwellers not to be able to vibe with these songs
