His mother might know the insurance and puts of the Child Support system, any man should know that as long as they're paying child support they have the right to spend time with they're child. When they pay child support they can also ask that Court if they can put it in the paperwork that they get visitation every week or every two weeks, I know this because my son's father brought it up at our child support court date and He was given every week visitation and He rarely came and got Him for His visits, eventually He got with a different female and my son was picked up twice after that because the girlfriend decided to whip my son and left cord bruises on my son, I took Him to the hospital and Social Services got involved, His father or His girlfriend didn't show up in Court so my son never went to His father's house anymore.

Did I hear that right? It's up to a court to decide whether or not a person who's been proven not the father might still have to pay? That doesn't really sound like the best situation for anyone. Child doesn't know her dad and man stuck paying for a child that's not his. Crazy to hear a judge say that without any problems.

The court thing actually makes sense. Some guys would just keep ignoring the court date to shake their responsibilities. So now both parents are motivated to show up to court. However, a court paternity test should be enough to get you off child support, that is just ridiculous.

"You're not your son" "I am his mom though". What does being his mom have to do with knowing what and who he was doing and where he was doing it/them. These moms need to realise they do not know their children and what they are doing every step and moment of the day. Be there in support of your child always, but you are not helping the matter when you try to act like you know every step your child makes.

The child support system is severely flawed by naming someone a father based solely on the word of the mother and the man missing court. There really needs to be a serious grassroot campaign to change these ridiculous laws
Change to what? The guy gets the chance to prove his case, if he doesnt show up, guess what? Tough. The child deserves to know, not educating one's self about court is his problem. Who gets court papers and pretends like nothing is happening???
I think it needs to go back even farther than that. There needs to be a serious effort to cut out teenage pregnancy through self esteem and communication. Even adult women need to take the necessary steps to prevent having babies after babies with men they just met yesterday.
Most of these Laws were put into affect before DNA became so easy to do, so they haven't updated to the technology.
What they need is to give an open date range to get the DNA done, say a month. If either party doesn't show, it is ruled in favor of the other party. A month is plenty of time for a potential dad to get one day off to get a test done. There's no need to punish the woman if the guy is a deadbeat who constantly goes off the grid to avoid payments.
But we also need a way for dad to easily appeal if say he didn't get the court summons and make it simple for Not Dad to get taken off of it once the DNA determines that he's not the father.
I actually agree. The interest on backpay makes it almost impossible for a non custodial parent to catch up.
Unfortunately men have done women wrong for years and the court had to fin a way to hold men responsible for making babies and leaving single parents all over the place...its just now catching up as men have evolved for the better and some women abuse these matriachal laws...
