In a statement, Kensington Palace says, 'Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.' Oh dear I'll think you'll find some mothers know. I for sure know with all the details they gave away from type of surgery ,length of stay in hospital, recovery period and protecting the children from the news gave it all away. Yes its major surgery but very much a common procedure surgery women have due to heavy periods, not having to worry about contraception ...but most of your family is complete.???

In America, we can take a 90-day leave of absence for major surgery and doctors' permission. So it's quite normal for a 90-day leave. I had abdominal surgery myself. I awoke in recovery with 50 staples in my abdomen. Recovery was extremely difficult and painful! I was in surgery for 5 hours and hospital stay for 5 days. It is difficult to get in and out of bed and chairs. Princess Catherine's doctor probably felt to keep her around with full nursing staff for an extra 5 days. I am sure her doctors know best. The major news agencies should stop speculating about Princess Catherine condition and whipping up public anger about her surgery and King Charles III procedure. May God bless them both to fully recover.
If they really wanted privacy then would have kept it quit. From the fact it was a planned surgery and the length of time in hospital and recovery it sounds like a hysterectomy. Whatever it is she will get the best possible care

When my husband was in the military stationed in Germany if I gave birth out the base with a German doctor I will have to stay for 2 weeks and if I had a c-section I will have to stay for a month and a half. Thanks God I gave birth in the base. Every country is different when it comes to surgery recovery. They have different technologies like robots that do the surgeries and the stay is short. Ive read an article about abdominal surgery and it says there that recuperation takes an average of 2-3 months. So i think there is nothing unusual with Princess of Wales abdominal surgery. It's a normal recuperating period for surgeries in abdomen.
I had complete abdominal hysterectomy and went home after 2 days in the hospital. The initial recovery period before I could go back to work, a desk job, was 6 weeks. My recovery went so well I was released and back to work in three. Three months recuperation for abdominal surgery seems abnormally long to me as does 10-14 days in the hospital especially considering she is a young and otherwise healthy.
@@ellen5165 are you a doctor? As you have said your surgery is abdominal hysteroctomy. Is this also the type of surgery Princess Kate went through? I think the length of recuperation it depends on what type of surgery and illness the patient has. Also Kate is a princess, extra caution must be provided if I were her, I would personally ask my doctor to stay longer in the hospital until i feel comfy to go home. I could even stay for one month. My mother is a doctor and she has lots of knowledge about this. Yours could be a simple surgery.
@@marvib100 I have no idea what kind of surgery she had, just suggesting that based on my personal experience 2-3 months for recovery and 10-14 days in hospital after abdominal surgery was rather lengthy. Not a doctor but was an RN who worked in the operating room in my first career so I'm aware there are many types and levels of abdominal surgery. Of course medical care for a princess would be a lot different than for an ordinary person like me.

My anaesthetist told me it takes approximately 18 months to recover from surgery. Poor Kate, having to get back to work by Easter. Self care is important to learn, teach your kids its ok to rest.

Yeah, I’m sorry but a C-section is one of the most extreme abdominal surgeries you can have and they tell you you’re pretty much good to go after six weeks. You’re not, but they expect you to be.
Your recovery time depends on a multitude of factors. Your anesthesiologist would not say this.
Charles will be fine. Just an easy procedure. Having the fluid in his prostate drained. My dad had that done too

Just to be clear, health can change on a dime - my husband is KCIII's age and until the beginning of 2023 was in very good health - until the coughing and other symptoms started. Don't ignore your symptoms, or chalk them up to aging, whether you're 40 or 75, get them checked out by a medical Dr. ASAP.

Since many others are giving their guesses, I'll add mine. She had to have an open cholecystectomy, removal of the gall bladder through a pretty extensive incision. Because the gallbladder was fragile (in my guess) and close to rupture, she had a naso-gastric tube for a few days after surgery rest the gut. Also some sort of a drainage tube in the wound area for a week or so. That would take a few weeks of care in hospital and recovery. Like I said, that is only a guess made up out of thin air. still, whatever the reason is, prayers and best wishes to her for a safe recovery back to glowing health.

@Dew-15 well, maybe hers is more serious? I don't know. I think it's human nature to want to know what is going on, but we're never going to know. Obviously it's serious enough to be in the hospital for 2 weeks and then out of circulation for several more months.

It shows everyone can get sick but the difference is when you are prominent the care will be there at privat clinics what about others who need desperate care are they not worthy. Are humans created to be rich or poor and therefore the poor are not worthy to exist is this the answer after Adam and Eve. Reproductive parts are also in the abdominal area. Endometriosis can require a more extensive procedure than a "simple" hysterectomy... it takes off & spreads to other areas, requiring more extensive treatment. Knowing how she loves children, such a procedure would affect her to such a degree that would also involve treatment for depression. Her family would undoubtedly be critical to her recovery. Just a guess!🙏🙏🙏

I had an extremely complicated surgery including having my endometriosis Catarized my whole uterus moved my bladder blown up like a baloon for photos then moved it and is held in place by mesh. I was cut open in 5 different places. The pain was bad and I needed to heal but ,April? Idk burning 🔥 off endometriosis is quite common and doesn't take that long to heal. I think it's worse.😢

Hospitalized for two weeks....I have a feeling in the States, this would probably be an outpatient surgery and you'd be sent home the same day....or maybe just a two-day stay in the hospital. Either way, I wish Catherine well.
Even in the US, intestinal/bowel/colon surgeries require a long hospital stay.

I'm so sorry, you must feel dreadful. Time does heal, but it can take a while. There's no point in me trying to give advice, but I hope you can get through this. Two years ago, I lost my husband of 48 years to dementia. When he went into care, I found he'd been cheating on me for years. I could not gain closure with him due to his dementia. Life can be tough.
When one door closes another one opens…it seems that door always end up leaving to better things…. Trust in the doors 👍🏻
