Cancer treatments typically lower your immune system. I was advised to stay away from public situations until the chemotherapy was over and my immune system had time to rebuild itself.

If it's bladder cancer the treatment is BCG, which is really immunotherapy. It actually stimulates the immune system of the bladder lining and does not lower overall immune system function.

Me too! I'm stayed in isolation at home for 6 months not even my family came inside my home, to protect me.
That's why I'm surprised Harry saw him yesterday after flying in from the states on a plane full of people where the A/C spreads it all around the plane, then goes to meet his father, that's a definite no no. It's too high risk to go near a chemo patient as we are often immuno surpressed.Thats why the King isn't doing his public meetings now.

Someone, who has cancer, and there is just "yes" or "no", becomes treatment and cannot work, the emotionel part is so heavy, the patient cannot good collect his thoughts and calm down. I had cancer too and my thoughts were alway in my ill, I could not collect my brain for work. I wish him a good treatment , and hope he will protect himself. I am sure, Camilla can help him a lot and does everything for him. Sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand me.

Like saying King Charles had had prostate cancer - when the statement from the palace stressed that it was benign. And then referring to William the Prince of Wales as "Prince Charles". And don't think that doctors give a diagnosis instantaneously - biopsies take time to do, sometimes the first results are ambiguous, and more tests have to be done to find out just which form of cancer it is. So maybe no-one knows for sure yet just what form of cancer it is. It took more than a week for me to get the results of a simple biopsy.

It’s called infection control. If one is having chemo/radiotherapy your immunity is diminished. It makes sense to restrict public engagements.

  • @kayjones6147
    @kayjones6147 Před 4 měsíci +41

He is stepping back from public appearances in order not to be exposed to any possible infections someone may have.
Chemotherapy really pushes down someone's immune system and consequently makes one extremely susceptible to infections.
He can handle his usual office/desk work because he can do that in private.
Plus chemotherapy will literally "wipe" you out physically. That is extreme fatigue, nausea etc. That's one of the side effects.
And I am basing all this on the fact that my late husband went through nine years of cancer treatments for leukemia and I saw first hand the effects of that.
Another problem will be what is called "fevers of unknown origin." He can "spike" a fever within just a few hours which then leads to testing to try determine the cause of the fever, i.e., is it an infection, bacterial or viral?
However as in my husband's case there were many times no cause was ever found. Hence that name "fever of unknown origin." But it is extremely vital to not ignore any symptoms such as fevers, coughs, etc.
An untreated infection can be fatal in a cancer patient.
I believe that eventually his type of cancer will be made public. But for now it's probably wise not to.
I personally wish him the best of success with dealing with this dreaded disease. It is a terrible shock when someone receives a diagnosis of cancer not only to the patient buy family.

I have read a lot of ANGRY replies omg!! ..Is it that the serious... the reporters might have been a little anxious having to report on a story like this!? .. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that that's what happened!? ..I had no idea people are so quick to belittle others and ridicule!!
      That's a shame!! ..
I sincerely hope and pray 🙏 that King Charles is cured, and lives a longer, and more healthy and happy life!
May God bless him in special ways 🙏 and keep him safe and well.

I think she is in rehabilitation but it takes time, she probably still has a lot of trouble walking or just moving and she tires quickly. I had abdominal surgeries twice, once for urgent bilateral salpingitis, the other for a 9 centimeter cyst in the uterus. I was only allowed 9 days in the hospital but frankly it wasn't enough, I was unable to move around when I left the hospital. The first days are complicated, you can barely move and it is very painfull and then comes the rehabilitation which is very long. I used crutches to help me walk for a long time, and I was able to walk without crutches again after more than 2 months. Not running, just walking. Without heels of course.

Anyone who visits friends or family in hospital or at home after surgery should know to keep the visit short. And in this case it is not only surgery, but also the diagnosis of cancer, and maybe the King is even having chemotherapy or radiation treatment (it sounds as if he is imumnocompromised at present). So no-one should expect to go waltzing in and talk to him for more than a few minutes at a time.

Charles III was coronated under unfavorable astrological aspects and it has been predicted that his reign will be especially short. Of course he is already of an advanced age, so perhaps a reign of 15 or 20 years would have been remarkable, but Steve Judd predicted no more than two years. He was coronated following a solar eclipse. While the cancer may have been caught early and we pray for complete healing, as for his reign, I think this is ominous.
