I have dell XPS 13 9320 but have error code 10 - I2C HID device cannot start - HID Descriptor failed. Touchpad was working fine but stopped working after all updates (Windows 11 pro) and there is no rollback option on I@C HID driver itself. Dell doesn't have an updated touchpad utility compatible with this system. Any suggestions where I can get an older driver files and install to see if that work..
If the `Roll Back Driver` button is greyed out (i.e. There is no option to get older drivers in your system.), RightClick I2C HID Device, Go to: Properties/Driver/ (Click on) `Update Driver` (button)/OK.

I don't know if you still have an issue but try uninstalling the I2C HID device and restarting
idk if i should use the synaptics download coz it says its not recommended

I'm getting code 12 for i2c hid device. What can I do
hid devices: keyboard, mice, game controller 🎮, scanners, biometric devices, graphics tablets, and devices which are connected through USB. Your PC has shown code 12 for any of these hid devices. (Solution: Try this code: 'sfc /scannow') in CMD as an Admin. CMD =?= Windows Command Line. If not try other solutions available at Google search results.

Windows Device Manager Error Codes are helpful to solve the problems. That are provided by OS of Windows developed by Microsoft. If you find an error code of the intel device, try to download & instal the supported drivers via Intel Website, or by Google Search Results. (My Suggestion!)
