I'm working with an Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (3) I225-V and I've installed the latest PREBOOT.zip. Whenever I open cmd as admin to change the directory to the installed Winx64 folder to install the .bat file it mentions that it aborted the installation because the driver already exists yet it's still showing code 10 even after system restart. Following up with bootutilw64e.exe -nic=1 -defcfg and/or -all -defcfg yeilds: 1 (Cannot initialize adapter) is there anything else I can try to do?
thank you for your video. I navigated all of your steps successfully, with no errors, and the fix is not working. I have also now tried uninstalling the ethernet adapter, and following up with scanning for hardware changes. I tried doing this both before and after rebooting, with no success. I have an intel i219-LM ethernet adapter. do you have any advice? perhaps I could obtain somewhere a working firmware image for this network adaptor?
@@izzylie thank you for your suggestion. I have not used ubuntu before, is it an entirely new operating system to replace windows? how is it relevant here specifically?
I specifically said "live usb". You just boot ubuntu installation media in "try" mode. it will not install anything or replace your OS, however you can use the linux version of the same intel utility to try fix your networking. and I think intel also provides a bootable media to do the same. the idea is to remove windows out of equation
im lost, i feel you need to elaborate way more for me to get a better understanding in command prompt, like what do i need to type?, i moved those installs to another folder and now im lost
I get a "Setting PXE EEPROM words back to defaults on NIC 1...error Unable to write default configuration to EEPROM" error when I run bootutilw64e.exe with either the -NIC=1 flag OR the -all flag.
@@izzylie done it bunch of times already, searched online and found someone says that it has to do with secure boot, tried disabling and re-enabling it back and forth but still not working
Actually, after that I uninstalled the device from Device Manager, used Scan for New Hardware, ran the bootutilw64e.exe command again and it worked like a charm. Rebooted, plugged the ethernet cable back in and bam, worked. You're a life saver!
Did it, the INF installed successfully, but then I got "Cannot initialize adapter" when executing Bootutilw64e ... It's definitely not physically broken, it worked fine until I made a clean reinstall of Windows.
@@izzylie Hey, thanks for the reply. It wasn't, but I solved the problem in a different way. It seems the newest build of the driver (29.2.1) was faulty. As soon as I went back to 28.3 (the latest of the 28.x builds), it worked fine.

Thank you, this worked a treat. Also established my cable was also a issue but that was a easy fix after this.

you may want to boot from an ubuntu live usb and try the same under linux

study some basic computer literacy, i.e. filesystem and command prompt. after you get some knowledge the instructions will be crystal clear
I get a
"Setting PXE EEPROM words back to defaults on NIC 1...error

try removing it from device manager and then search for hardware changes

are you sure you run cmd from admin though?
@@izzylie yes i did
may be you would try booting from say a live Ubuntu stick and do the same from there. there's a linux tool next to windows one on intel website
Can you help me to fix mine
