My family is ilocano and pinakbet was a daily dish in our household growing up. Although, the pinakbet I grew up with used the brown bagoong with lots of tomatoes. My grandma used the vegetables from her garden. But I’m just like AM, ampalaya is not my favorite. I would pick out the eggplant, cabatiti, and string beans for myself. I miss eating this dish! Thanks for sharing!

I just cooked pinakbet awhile ago for our dinner, it has pork but i added chicaron to make the soup thick. I will try it with prawns next time, maybe after payday because prawns are too expensive hahaha! Php 600/kilo😅

I'm a Filipina and my favorite is pinakbet..it doesn't matter how they cooked it lol..coz pinakbet has different version..there is what they call pinakbet ilokano..tagalog kapampamngan etc..but I still love them all..and beef and crispy pata kare2 is another one..
