the best way to watch this movie is to watch it and not take it seriously at all lol. Everything about it is so far fetched : the radio station, the deserted island during storm season, the fishermanâs backstory working on the island, Ray showing up the literal second Julie is about to be killed đđđ everything. Itâs so unserious but very fun watch.

B4 this the only thing I remember about this movie was jack black's character and Ben....son lol

1:10:40 Ive watched this amazing chase scene way too much to not notice BUT Julie DOES jump to initially help Karla when she gets stuck in the beams. If you notice, Nancy takes it upon her self to jump infront of Julie and throw her hand at her like âstay there, Iâll get her.â
1:34:40 If you remember the layout of Julieâs room, Karla falls on the side of the room where there was no door. She crawls across the bed to get to the doorway. Now the reason she runs towards the balcony instead of the front door, I always attribute to her being hysterical and scared that sheâs now alone and running from the killer. Itâs in the details sir đ
I have to say also a little fun detail I always notice now with this movie is that Estes takes their items to protect them and save them, Ty took his back when they found the possessions and heâs the one who died. Julie and Carla were fine so yeah I think thatâs a neat little detail

Eddie getting so worked up about Julie having water with her potato chips is hilarious to me. Love you guys!
So Iâm rewatching âGhost Whispererâ and there is an episode where the ghost is doing hauntings that resemble horror movies. They name drop IMWYDLS and the other character just stops and looks at Jennifer Love Hewitt and pauses. Itâs hilarious
great work as always!!! Karla's scene where she falls back into the glass after Estes and Nancy dies always puzzles me. Like did the fisherman just assume she was dead? Even though he didn't really stab her with his hook?
I might be one of the only few people who prefers the sequel over the original because I felt like the original took itself way to seriously while this sequel set the right campy tone

I think the sequel is way more fun. Brandy was such a big star and it was fun to see her act and she wasnât bad at all. The island and storm aspect was also so visual and scary. I totally get it.
Glad that you did this movie! With how often you mention Urban Legend (1998) I'm pretty positive you're going to do an episode for that movie? Maybe in the next few months? Also, in retrospect the year 1998 was a big and memorable for Jack Black when you think about it. He played probably the most memorable character in this horror sequel. But he also had small part in the all star cast for the Tony Scott movie starring Will Smith "Enemy of the State (1998)".
I just watched Enemy of the State after not seeing it for probably more than a decade. I forgot Jack Black was in it until he showed up. Haha
I LOVE this movie! Brandy is the stand out for me, she gets a great chase scene. Not better or worse than Helenâs, just different and fun!! This is the best movie in the franchise! (I totally think you guys should do the 3rd entry AND the series đ)

Ive been with you guys since you started the cherry picker and have watched/ listened to every podcast ((except movies i havent seen yet, although they are on my watchlist so i can come back to them and still let them play while i sleep lol) you guys do a great job and i could listen to you talk about your favourite and not so favourable horror movies for hours. Iâm glad you guys have covered the sequel! đđŸ For me it is the more enjoyable one of the two movies from the cast to the classic 90s soundtrack (Swirl 360, Esthero, Hooverphonic, Reel Tight & of course CJ Bolland!)
I think they got the formula right with the sequel whereas the first one they made almost every character so serious or unbearable! đźâđš

Jennifer Love Hewitt acts really campy in this.
But she did Boy Meets world And Then There Was Shawn.
It was released between after the first movie and before this.
In that episode she makes a paroby of Julie James.

I love this movie, I have a lot of nostalgia for it but I can acknowledge itâs not a perfect movie and that maybe even some parts arenât technically good but I still have so much fun watching
Yes! I have always loved this sequel so much. I watch back to back with the OG every 4th of July. Gets so much unwarranted hate. Julie becomes and awesome final girl & itâs just a fun time with an awesome setting. Cannot wait to see Julie in the legacy sequel!
Loving your podcasts for years now. I have very fond memories of seeing this when it came out with one of my best friends, and to this day, I think it's so bad that it's good. So much fun.

A new proper Urban Legend.
The second killer also survived.
Fun to see how the two killers can do in a new movie.
But probably it would be better with just Rebecca Gayheart in a new surrounding.
Maybe a teacher this time in another school.
But if she's not the killer and they kill her off.
It would be to much off a scream movie.
As much camp as this movie was, the dude on the left is going so hard on his hate for Julie and things that can easily be defended and explained away as PTSD. Or her trying to get her life back to normal at help of Brandy but being dragged back to being triggered. This movie isnât genius filmmaking and itâs not supposed to be but this is ridiculous. Has he never seen a character or known someone whose went through trauma a year prior and is dealing with it a year later? Like sheâs not depressed and cut off 24/7. Sheâs clearly okay SOME of the time but has triggers.
