The word Pagan refers to those people who believe in a Form of God or many Gods. This word was given by Christians to those who were non-christians at that time. We believe in the samething. Only difference is that they have lost Hindu (Sanatan Dharma) connections. Before 2000 years, advent of Christianity, it was consideration part of same religion. Example, Indra, the Hindu God and Zeus, the Greek God are both King of Heaven, ride the elephant, and carry lightening bolt as a weapon. You can say they are former followers of Sanatana Dharma. But at the end, same religion. Both are Pagans. Ask any Born-again Christians. They will agree that we practice a type of paganism. See, not so different. Thank you.

Great words. I also felt like a key open a chest inside of me and its hard to describe. Some kind of brighness not from the skies , but from inside . Maby thats what Hinud refers "Chakhras". After Cristianity took everything that is good out of old faith and what they didint take called "Pagan". Paganism does not describe the old religion. If you noticed all the churches are built on top of shrines and built near old treees where old faith was celebrated. This old faith connects not only europeans, but the whole Indo-european continental massives. Tho I wouldnt call Cristianity evil or anything as it contains most of what old religion was. It just hinders me that it is also Organisation .... With a Pope ? and A person on cross ? That was a historical figure not as much of a religion as Jesus basicaly started the organisation of old religion and called cristianity ... Thats history not actual faith ...

Hola Mario q tal ?

Be to, kalbos panašios ir savo morfologija: skr. asmi - asi - asti = liet. esmi - esi - esti.

My Grandma was Lithuanian;unwavering strength through most difficult times. Her parents came to U.S around 1902. *Always reminded*: Lithuanians were the LAST to convert to Christianity, LAST,and not quietly, enter the Soviet Union. Romans couldn't take them either; only trade. NEVER mess with Sofie's family. I remember being young and hearing her speak little Lithuanian; turns out she was "putting the curse",as the family called it, on someone who stole $ from Grandpa's company. Surprised me because she was such a devout Catholic. Such sacrifice by all of them so future generations can survive and pass on traditions of the culture. Turns out business partner died 2 weeks later; heart attack.🤔 Don't mess with Sofie..😉 ❤😇

And the other commenter is correct, most (or at least half) of the US's Founding Fathers were Deists, not Christians. Indeed some of them even expressed doubt in a Supreme Being.
It's unfortunate that so many Americans don't know their own history.

Also, @mike89128, Lithuania is not a model country. In 2019, Romuva was AGAIN denied recognition by the Seimas (basically the Lithuanian parliament or senate) as a "traditional religion" despite meeting all of the requirements. They appeared to have the votes needed. A last-minute letter by the Catholic church and push by some told lies about Romuva and switched people's votes. So please don't think every one welcomes the old practices.
In addition, there is still a lot of anti-Semitism in Lithuania and a refusal to take responsibility for their part in the murder of something like 95 or 98% of Lithuanian Jews during WWII. Just in the last few years has there been a push to recognize and commemorate the rich Jewish history of, for instance, Vilnius.
But yes, it does have one of the strongest pagan movements in Europe.

Absolutely breathtaking! I believe Lithuanians are the only ethnic Europeans in modern time who still acknowledge their native, pre-Christian, ethnic roots on a national level. I admire them. I was born and raised in Russia, Rostov-on-Don, and it’s where my mother’s family is from. My father’s family Armenian. I lived in Russia until 13 years old, at which point my parents decided to move us to USA Florida where we had family members. I don’t remember that in Russia people were paying so much respect to the old gods of pagan Rus. Russian old fairytales did live on, but not much discussion about Slavic pagan heritage of Russian people. I was always drawn to the beauty of old Russian fairytales as a child, and I was always connected to nature. I was never introduced to my father’s Armenian culture or language. My father did speak of Armenia from time to time, but I was raised Russian. Although I am half Armenian, I have always really felt more Russian. Maybe because ethnicity passes through the mother not the father. I didn’t want to come to America, and I objected to the move, but my parents insisted and I was only a teenager so I had to go along with it. It was in America though that I began to do research on Russian pagan heritage. I even looked into Armenian pagan heritage, and found out that there was a lot of similarities between the Slavic pagan culture, and Armenian pagan culture. I suppose because both Slavs, and Armenians are part of the same large Indo European/Aryan family tree. The interest in paganism is growing in all nations today, including Russia and Armenia, but it’s not yet on the level as it has always been in Lithuania. I’m hoping that all people around the world begin to rediscover their native ethnic roots, which happens to go hand-in-hand with reconnecting with nature
