  • The Tello was made by Dji and on Amazon it’s $100 or $150 for the boost combo with more batteries and a charger. In this video I review the drone to see if it is a good fit for you.

I like these drones. Bought altogether 6 of them. 3 already gone, 3 still flying. The tello fpv app is essential, with that i use wired controller (gamesir t1s in pc mode) so no bluetooth is needed, no interference, smooth video transmission, approx 400m range, with a no name wifi range extender with 2 antennas, 350m with the xiaomi repeater.
I have a dronemask2 to my regular dji drones, so i fly real FPV. Very good indoors and outdoors.
One tip: take the propeller guards outside.

Not a bad quad to get your feet wet, it has faults. Brushed motors(burn up easy, short life). Latency! Stick input takes a while to respond. Zero support for repairs.. you can only find motors..

      This is true

Brushed motors's life sapn is quite random, the ones on my drone live since 2021 somehow and I flown it often.

Not sure the Tello is still an option these days instead of a 'real drone'. I bought a L200 Pro Max last time. GPS, brushless motors, 2-axis gimbal+EIS, SD card slot, controller with usb charge port and screen, optical flow. Wasn't expecting much. But in fact it's really really good. People can't believe it's not a DJI Mini. Price: 110 Euro with extra battery and one of those infrared things on top.
So where does this leave your Tello? It is a nice tool where you don't have GPS. It's so small, you can fly it in the middle of town and nobody will start crying. But if someone is looking for his/her first drone I would not recommend it. Not anymore. Maybe I would if it had a small WiFi controller and SD card slot? Time flies!

Yes, the Tello may not be a drone to get any more but people know dji and any drone that is not dji they could get scared of. But there will be more cheap drone videos coming out soon as well as some other drones.

This is a good starter drone or Children's Drone and and is a lot better than these Toy drones that are available.

Did you read my comment? It would have been true couple years ago. Not anymore.
