    As a GM Sigma, I confirm everything in this video, learned the same by myself. Due to new patch, accretion is dealing 80 dmg now, but combo is still possible with additional shot before the incoming rock.

    Random fact I discovered by playing Junkrat against Sigma : during his ult, drop a mine below you and make it explode before you smash the ground. It will cancel the fall damage

    Rock + primary is 210 afaik because rock damage was buffed. You can also press e and hold primary to shoot all three at once to eliminate follow up.

    • @BaileysOver
      @BaileysOver  Před rokem +4

      yup this is totally correct! I noticed this in editing, but since I knew the interactions at the 210 number everything still applied :) appreciate the feedback though, always good to be kept focussed on the little things hahah

    Great job on the guide. Just one thing. It's a common misconception that you can only shoot once during ult. You can hit 2 volleys during his flux for a total of 4 orbs. The 1st is when you immediately flux them up, the 2nd is the obvious one when they're suspended in the air, and the 3rd is once they already hit the floor on 20 hp. I would say it's practical since I've confirmed many double, even sometimes triple kills using this method which is huge considering there's only 5 players per team.

    • @BaileysOver
      @BaileysOver  Před rokem +9

      thanks dude! I actually made sure I checked this double interaction, and the original script actually mentioned it being technically possible. but in recording, I found myself missing the 2nd round of shots if I went for the 1st, so I decided to make the script more concise and only mention the single fire combos. TLDR - you're right, it just felt a bit too tricky to pull off to put in a guide :')

  • @thedeltastrat
    @thedeltastrat Před měsícem +4

    tbh I think the dva match up is pretty good. Use grasp to eat the rockets and gain a bigger health advantadge, try and take out some of the armour, and then rock her when she tried to fly away or use defense matrix to avoid damage. Then with a little follow up damage from a dps you get an easy kill

  • @justinsmeer9539
    @justinsmeer9539 Před rokem +17

    To add: Sig's 2 orbs are independent from each other, meaning you can throw each orb in 2 different directions, this can be helpful when a high mobility enemy is strafing left and right because you can throw each orb to a general location where they will be rather than hoping they move the direction you aim.
    Close quarters fighting also has one major disadvantage (other than difficulty aiming). Sig receives self damage from his orbs and rock.
    An advantage to the self damage is he can use it for a slight movement thrust allowing him to reach places he couldn't normally.

    • @BaileysOver

    I typically play as a duo sometimes a trio, and Sigma is so beautifully versatile when paired with other characters. My buddy sticks by me as Lucio and gives me speed boost especially when things are tight. That pairing makes Sigma absolutely OP if youre coordinated with a teammate. Not to mention using the shield to save your teammate in a clutch moment

    Correction: Armor calculation doesn't work by doing (Healthpool)*(1.3). It works like (Healthpool)/(0.7) which actually gives even higher effective health values. Brig's effective health is actually 221 (150+[50/0.7]).
    Nice video. Sigma is quite underrated and is probably going to be VERY strong if long-range/poke becomes META.

    I think another good tip as a sigma is if there is a Sombra and you have ult, wait to get hacked first then pop ult The only way she can cancel you out of your ult after you've been recently hacked is if she EMPs. Just be aware though that some sombra's will intentionally hack you to bait out your ult so she can EMP you.

    Don't forget that grasp can eat up enemy heals too, as long as they aren't beam heals.
    And I would say that rein counters Sig if he gets close. Rock is hella easy to block, and grasp can't stop hammer swing. As far as reins ult, because of the CD after recalling shield, a rein can walk through or wait until you recall it to shatter you...
    I would say that Sig counters a passive Reinhardt or if you are on the high ground vs a Rein on the low ground.

    • @BaileysOver
      @BaileysOver  Před 7 měsíci

      I totally get that! I think this matchup is a more "stylistic" counter than a interactional counter, if that makes sense? Sigma likes to keep his enemies at range, and if Sigma can keep a Reinhardt at range (but using his rock and frequent damage output), then the Rein can be helpless in this matchup. I WILL agree that this is definitely a more even matchup since OW2, since Sigma is the only tank and sometimes HAS to engage in a close range fight against Rein... which never ends well for Sig :')

    I don't really struggle much with D Va (I'm lower tier), I just back up to my supports, get healed and peel for them. Often D Va will ignore me and go for my supports so I'll put up my shield real close, pass it and then go after the D Va. I'll get some healing from my supports, have my shield protecting me from DPS and supports, then just unload on D Va from there. Kinetic grasp blocks the missiles, rock knocks her down once matrix is gone and she either leaves with boost or her mech is gone. My supports live and she's out of the picture. With Winston I just back out of his bubble.

    • @BaileysOver
      @BaileysOver  Před 7 měsíci

      DVa is definitely one of the not so bad matchups, but a good DVa can punish a Sigma pick by diving the backline. Sigma isn't a GREAT peel tank, and his frontline presence can be bypassed relatively easily, so it's a softish counter imo :)

    While I don't have anything to add, I will say this, I am a Sigma main XD and, I play him... a little differently. I play him as a support, so, I throw Experimental Barrier out if my teammate/healer is getting attacked. Ill also jump in front with Kinetic Grasp, and fight the foes off, long enough for the healer/teammate to escape to safety, with me staying behind to hold them off. What do you think? :3

    • @BaileysOver
      @BaileysOver  Před 8 měsíci

      I think that this is a little closer to how Sigma was played in Overwatch 1, so I totally get it. I think a lot of the tanks have had playstyle adjustments in the single format for two reasons...
      Firstly, I appreciate the desire to enable your team, but as the only tank on the team it's most important that you're the hero claiming and holding space as your team's frontline. It's a difficult concept to understand, as it's never really quantified by any of the visual indicators in game, but I may make a video on the concept in future :')
      Secondly, 5v5 made achieving elims even more important. As a player who's focussing on enabling others, you're missing a LOT of the value that Sigma has when it comes to eliminating enemies. When you think about it, every elim you get makes the enemy team 20% weaker... that's a MASSIVE impact
      I played Sigma and DVa a lil bit in Overwatch 1, so I definitely appreciate your "off tank" playstyle. If you're a casual player, go absolutely wild! I think having fun is the most important part of any video game :)

      @@BaileysOver I understand completely, and this is very good information, so thank you!!! :3
      I didn't play the OG Overwatch... 2 is the only one I have played, but I LOVE Sigma's ability to take damage and go: Oh yeah? Hows about I make a shield out of it?". And I love the fact that you gave me more tips in that essay (Its not, thats a joke XD) you wrote!
      And, I will say this, I am completely casual, I still get dommed by a Moira who LOVES targeting me XD. Maybe in the future ill become competitive, but for now, im casual. I am more of a "Poke you from afar, then protecc when i need to" kind of guy but that doesn't stop me from charging headfirst into battle, ofc, with some strategy XD.
      And, when I have the Overhealth, I will just focus on my enemy. Rock is my favorite move. Cause I stop Orisa's all the time. And D'va's. Any tips on how to deal with a hella pushy Moira? Sorry if that bothers you XD :3

    VERY good guide.
    Recommendation? "How2Eichenwalde" for teams that just can't.
    I'm a tank main; I really can't attack that map without ball, though I always get the cart rolling. Nobody knows how to push, so I just make the team back up to me. I can't be the only one with that problem.

      eyy thanks man! I actually have a list of maps that I wanna make guides for, gonna add Eichenwalde onto this! no idea when I'll get around to it but... eventually :)
