Haile Selassie in Dire Dawa

This is a rare film of1952- Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia, visited Dire Dawa and my father-in-law made a short documentary film. I only made some small changes since the film was somehow damaged after so many years.

Thank you for your comment and stars. the credits belong to my father-in-law who was Greek, moved in ethiopia during the 2nd WW, was married there and raised 3 children who, although now in Greece, love Ethiopia and consider Ethiopia as their motherland. Hope they come again to visit Ethiopia sometime. Do you live in Addis? My husband could not read ethiopian. Please translate. you will watch more such flilms soon.

Excellent clips, sadly most of the images, books and videos that shows Hile Selase have been destroyed at the time of Durg (Colonel Mengestu Hailemaryam). I remember cutting his image out of exercise book in fear of geting caught. So it is great to see this survived footages.
