- This is the official trailer for patch 2.3: The Gods of Zul'Aman. The original description for the content featured in this patch is below. The full patch overview can be found here:
battle.net/wow/game/patch-note...
The stronghold of Zul'Aman has stood for millennia as the Amani trolls' seat of power and bastion of the fearless, cunning warlord Zul'jin.
Zul'jin has spent several years plotting behind Zul'Aman's walls. Furious at the Horde for allowing his hated enemies, the blood elves, to join its ranks, he eagerly embraced a scheme that the witch doctor Malacrass recently proposed: to seal the power of the animal gods within the bodies of the Amani's strongest warriors.
Now Zul'Aman's army grows more powerful by the day, hungry to exact vengeance in the name of its fearless leader, Zul'jin. - Hry
I'm sorry, Zul'jin.
We should have listened.
I love how they showed the old Alliance assault: humans are 'footmans' and Elves are rangers only. Reminded me of Warcraft 2...
As it always should be :D
This was cool when alleria was theyr leader it's a shame that them don't liberate the high elfs for the allliance, in the aliade races of the ally i will prefer the nightborne than the void elves
Dis is our land!! You wanna stay?! You stay here forever!! We gonna bury you here....
EPIC
Ironically this can now apply to the Trolls In Darkshore....
@@Sonichero151 DARKSPEAR NEVA' DIE!
I say the same thing to immigrants
That basically sums up Slav attitude on migrants
Still feel chilled listening to this after 15 years
dis be da best cinematic eva mon
Sammy the Sea Slugg all tbc cinematics were awesome ... but thats me im a real vanilla and tbc lover ... though i always liked everything in wow because it was bettter then any other game
Sammy the Sea Slugg yo youre right mon,da trolls be awesome
We’ve come a long way bois
"I hate you. I hate you all."
That still gives me chills.
Even after all those years, this trailer still gives me the chills it once did when I first watched it
Nephrix That last line doe
+Nephrix still think 4.1 is pretty mean tho
A good story telling is always better than a good looking one
all the troll ones do that for me too.
And 7 years after that this is still my fave WOW trailer :)
One of the best WOW patch trailers. The voice actor utterly nailed it.
Ya mon..!
"We gonna bury you here."Chills to this dayThe voice actor for Zul'jin brought him to life. He is brilliant and terrifying in his own right
There must always be...
*thunder* *lightning*
...a Troll patch.
This is so true it hurt.
Except in WoD...but WoD sucked...
Zandalar!
well, in battle for azeroth there will be more than that
Well Legion did not delivered as well. At least it will be compensated in BfA.
This is imo the number 1 most threatning villain speach of all wow trailers
If you know the lore of trolls in general and think about it, it's kind of easy to feel bad for them. They were one of the first races (if not the actual first) of Azeroth and they were the first to develop civilization which spanned across all of pre-sundering Kalimdor (aka: all of Azeroth). They fought a long deadly war against the Aqir, giant evil bug creatures created by the Old Gods and eventually they gained the advantage and pushed the Aqir into small corners of Azeroth. And they were the first to discover the Well of Eternity which transformed many of them into the Night Elves.
After that, their empires slowly began collapsing in on themselves. The Sundering further decimated their presence in the world as it separated their tribes. Then you have the descendants of the Earthen (Dwarves), Mecha-gnomes (Gnomes), the Vrykul (Humans), and the Highborne (High Elves) rise and create kingdoms in former Amani Troll lands. Maybe earlier generations of trolls are barbaric and hateful in nature, but it's natural to feel pissed about others taking your lands, so of course they wage war on those races. But they're unable to do so on their own... until the Orcish Horde comes.
They didn't join the Horde during the First War, but no doubt they heard about the devastation they caused to the Humans, so when they returned in WC2 (with Ogres as well), joining them was a reasonable decision if they hoped to reclaim their ancestral lands. But in the Northern Eastern Kingdoms between Lordaeron and Quel'thalas, the Horde abandoned them when they were trying to push into Quel'thalas, so the Elves and Humans were able to decimate them as seen in the trailer. And like Zul'jin said, the Horde then did the unspeakable by accepting the Elves--their closest enemy--into their ranks.
So one faction takes your lands and then another one turns against you, and then in TBC when the Amani are finally able to muster the strength of their Loa Gods to help them retake their land, just a group of "heroes" comes in, kills their gods and their revered leader and wipes out a lot of them in the process. And then in Cata it happens again when the remnants of the Amani side with their brethren the Gurubashi, they're just crushed in their own land like the Native Americans.
Yeah yeah, their culture was barbaric with cannibalism and blood sacrifices (which in the case of the Gurubashi brought forth a powerful Loa God that heralded the destruction of the world), and maybe if they retook their land they wouldn't stop from there. But still, the land rightfully belonged to them first and if it wasn't for Trolls, Azeroth would probably have fallen to the Old Gods again. Truly they're the unsung heroes of Warcraft.
Of course maybe I'm just biased because I main Troll (For da Darkspear! At least that tribe progressed past outdated traditions and have formed a strong and wise society amongst Thrall's new Horde and they fought to preserve that Horde rather than let it sink into brutality under Garrosh)
+buldren0101
Totally agree with you. The history of the different tribes Trolls made me love this race more than any other.
For da Darkspear ! For Vol'jin ! For da Hooordddeee !
+buldren0101 afaik if they just unite they could challange the major factions on azeroth i.e horde and alliance
+buldren0101 well he did invite me in 1:37
+buldren0101 Is that why in WC3, when making a troll from the Orc Barracks he says "Vengeance for Zul'Jin"?
+buldren0101 i some time ago i got confused the trolls got the abilitie of rise the dead so why in Rit'ko's BALLS DO THEY NOT RISE ZUL'JIN !?!
I remember watching this back in tbc. One of the best wow patch cinematics of all time.
yeah me too, nostalgic dude
Zuljin did nothing wrong
yeah but you slain him anyway to take his items... all politics
Individual struggle is important, but it should also consider the historical process.
Garrosh did nothing wrong... He did it for the Horde. Now Thrall is like Gul'dan for me. "We fight with honor" yeah right...
Zul'jin would have made Trolls great again.
+IronGraphite He did it for the Orcs not the horde, and he was completly wrong and crazy.
To be honest... the Amani are in the right... I feel bad fighting them, and I always loved how when you do the raid his voice sounded so optimistic and fun, even when he was talking about killing you. So sad to have seen this turn into a five-man.
flamy709 Yep, I know the lore, but I still think they're cool!
Rainy Jane The Quel'Dorei were totally fine staying in Eversong. The Amani tried to drive THEM out and lost even more land for it. It's their fault.
Pyromantic Pyromancer Not in the mood to be on about this, maybe when I'm less tired from work.
Rainy Jane trolls are best man
Pyromantic Pyromancer but the quel'dorei arrived after amani
"You wanna stay? You stay here forever...we gonna bury you here..."
"You wanna stay, you stay here forever! We gonna bury you here." Still one of the most epic lines ever delivered in movies or video games.
Still one of the best trailers they've ever done.
2:10 to the end still gives me chills everytime. Some of the best voice acting I've ever heard
My favorite trailer from Blizzard. No other cinematic or in-game trailer makes me goosebumb this hard
Yes , mine too!
its my second favorite one, my main one is kinda mainstream but nothing goosebumbs me as hard as the wotlk trailer
agreed X) while definitely not the best of raids or anything, its definitely one of my top 5 raid trailers X)
this is still better. obviously not better animation or models etc, but this is great
Hurricane's Naxx trailer
I love the music that begins when the doors open up at 1:40. It's such a simple beat but it's just got an epic vibe to it.
Zul'Jin will have his vengeance in the nexus, when he comes to Heroes of the Storm, MAKE IT HAPPEN!
He was indirectly confirmed to be in the game soon. Someone asked about him, and he got a response of "You saw that Amani Battle Bear in the opening ceremony? Good eye." This was followed by the dev clapping. The crowd cheered, and with good reason!
I hope you're right my friend
we just got a tease for him (probably) on facebook
It happened!
Yes it did. I am buying him first thing when it comes out. The troll gods thirst for blood. "The Amani Empire nevah gonna die!"
best troll instance ever, with old zg
oh god the old ZG was freaking awesome :')
I don't think blizzard will ever make a more chilling trailer
+Zedi gan Cuz they appease to babies now.
+K4inan no, just because of the backstory of the amani and just how naturally savage the trolls are. They executed it perfectly.
+Zedi gan rise of the zandalari is very nice too!
+Zedi gan This trailer is great, but Ulduar.
"The old god is laughing... toying with us.
Who will be our hope?"
along with the chilling music
We will never forget...
We never die...
You wanna stay here? You stay here forever!
We gonna bury you here.
***** I remember when this cinematic came out. Zul'jin's voice gave me chills on that line. Still does, even after all this time.
"I hate you...I hate you all...." That line and the line where he says "We're going to bury you here..." Give me the chills lol
A shame Blizzard killed off Zul'jin so early in WoW's lifetime.
Well, they certainly didn't plant to milk their game past wotlk/cata instead of releasing Project Titan back in a day.
They didn't.
He's been possessing Budd since 2.3
@@63Limar what a dumb statement
@@TheEregos okay
@@TheEregos someone genuinely doesn't know how the company acted before the buyout.
I'd lmao, but it's too sad now.
Can't wait until old Zul'jin becomes playable in Heroes of the Storm.
+Connor Harison Yeah instead they give us a dryad
What do you mean "instead"? We're going to get zul'jin eventually, apparently there's already some sound siles in the game for him.
What i mean is we know some of the badass have been in the database for a while but random heroes just pop up out of nowhere lol :D it's not like i don't like them but that still quite frutrating
there were sound files for Azshara aswell, but she never got in yet so i wouldent get my hopes up
I hope they put in that last line some how if he makes it. "We gonna bury you here."
By far still one of my fav patch/expansion introductions. gave me chills back then and still does now
Troll raids were the best raids.
tbh I never like the scenery. I love trolls themselves because of their personality, but the troll areas always struck me as ugly and like the sort of Aztec looking place that tons of video games already have.
Rainy Jane still better than elves.meh
Ege Baysal well that goes without saying.
they suppose to be like Carribean and aztec themed.
This was a raid?
It's that time of the year again.
It's troll slaying season!
More than 8 years and 6 expansions later, I think this is still my favorite patch cinematic.
same dude, it never gets old..it never dies
Well he has a point, they were here before anyone. Alliance and Horde just like to butt in and take over everything -.-
I feel like drawing a pararell to a certain continent in real life
a certain country more like it^
Justin Barrett More like sub-continent
Roronoa Zoro amani = aztec
alliance and horde = warmongering european conquisitadors
Archrave ninteenseventeen Alliance only* The Horde and the Amani fought alongside each other during the Second War, in fact, Forest Trolls were considered a part of the old Horde. The only reason they don't like the Horde in BC is because they're mad about the Blood Elves being a part of the Horde, and the High Elves remained solely in Eversong, so it was just a matter of the Amani being butthurt.
Even to this day, this is my favorite wow cinematic. Half way in I get the chills about every two seconds. Zul’jin is my favorite character in the blizzard universe :D
Holy crap, I still get chills when he says "...we gonna bury you here."
After all these years it still gives me chills, so beautiful.
Woo, this is shortly after I started! I barely realized how much I'd missed before this, and I had no idea how much more was to come.
He's friggin' AMAZING in HOTS. Super fun hero.
This is our land... You wanna stay? YOU STAY HERE FOREVER. We're gonna bury you here...
Best Trailer of all times, imo.
Would've preferred Amani over both Darkspear and Blood Elves.
But they're not playable are they? Big build Trolls > Skinny Darkspear Trolls.
Embertaph I prefer the Gurubashi Empire. I'd love the play a Gurubashi.
I'd like to play a drakkari
Jules Roblédo Darkspear was a part of the gurubashi. Untill they were exiled
You called it
My boy, Zul'jin, was not wearing his mask correctly.
FOR ZUL'JIN!
years later i still love this voice over / narration
For those of you who don't know, the beginning is referencing the first major war on Eastern Kingdoms after the Sundering, more commonly known as the "troll wars". Before Lordaeron or Stormwind or any of the kingdoms were made, there was Arathor, the first Kingdom and only Empire of the humans. This was how they got the Elves on their side. Hence, "we never forget", because the wars were so long ago.
-
The more you know!
YOU WANNA STAY, YOU STAY HERE FOREVER,..... We gunna bury you here....
Poor trolls, I feel sympathetic with them.
this has and always will be my favorite patch trailer.
Gives me goosebumps every time!
Welcome back Zul'jin
Da Amani neva give up. We neva forget. We Neva Die. This... Is our land. You wanna stay? Ya stay here foreva. We gonna bury you here.
This has to be one of my favourite videos for wow.
I love this trailer so badly, i watch it every week...
Gotta love a druid doing melee dps with a 2hander mace.
vanilla flashbacks..
+Cegesh I didn't play my druid in tbc. I switched to pally. Feral druids used to have 2handers as main weapon in vanilla.
I assume that he was actually healer and he had ran out of mana and just tryed to finish the troll with 20 dmg melee hits xD
best trailer ever
2015 and still giving me goosebumps.. :3
Man this trailer still gives me chills!
Gives my chills all the time ,also i love it since both Zul'jin and me think that the blood elves doesnt belong in the Horde
Zul'jin: You Wanna stay? You Stay here forever!"
Me: "No Thanks. I'll just get my mount and leave."
One of the best ever, Had so much fun there !
One of the perfect patch trailer! Better done 10 years ago than today For ZulJin!
loved Zul'Aman, i remember when i first installed the game this patch was actual. Unfortunately i never acquired the old Time Run...Good times though, the raid was a lot of fun and very challenging
"we never forget" *pulls out stromkar* "No no that sword, I can hear my ancestors scream get away!"
This sends shivers down my spine everytime I watch it! It's so epic! :D
Chills every time
Someone should tell the Amani that you cant spit on anyone in world of warcraft anymore
lots of years passed from that patch, i still think zul'jin was right
thats when i started :) .. and here i am nearly 11 years later , still absolutely addicted from that game :x
This was my live....Feels so good
1:28 the guy wielding the Warglaives of Azzinoth has a WoW tabard XD
because, why not :P
It was awarded to the person with the most HK atlvl 60 before the honorsystem was implemented
web.archive.org/web/20080329093508/www.wow-europe.com/en/contests/test-of-honor/index.html
chaR_TV thats also awarded to player who won a special arena contest
To this day, this is still my favorite patch trailer. It was because of Zul'jin that I really fell In love with Troll lore.
Perfectly amazing video 🫰
That last bit always gives me chills "We gonna bury you here", love it :)
20 millones de veces un mejor trailer que el actual.
Encima en el trailer de latinoamerica pusieron los subtitulos en chino xD
We gon bury you here. That is just powerful.
This is clearly the best patch cinematic ever I have to say !!!
im so hyped for this
As A troll player. I still like Zul'jin. He's been a gangsta since Warcraft 2
That ending is epic. The wham line "You wanna stay? You stay here forever!" comes just as those wooden shutters appear behind the title. The effect, as the gutteral whisper of "We gonna bury you here" gives one the impression of a coffin closing over your face. Beautiful.
still giving me chills
Chills, literal chills
His voice are so perfect and so full of hate & dispise.
I wish that they did more with Zul'Jin then just another raidboss
The voice actor is a real god !
I wonder who was the voice actor.
Wasn't around for the start of this, but Wowinsider directed me to see such an episode trailer!
Goosebumps all over!
Why u make Zul'Jin bad everyone liked him
Vengeance for Zul'jin!
Bledarag WoW made a mess of everything, including what happened to the Horde. Blood Elves should have stayed in the Alliance or at least created their own faction. Elven rangers were the ranged unit of the "human" side in WC2, and a counterpart to Troll axethrowers. The menu screen for WC2 displays a duel between a Troll axethrower and an Elven ranger, they were natural enemies.
I never understood why Thrall "couldn't believe they (the Amani Trolls) were ever a part of the Horde". They were allies to the Orcs.
It is interesting to note, however, that the line in my previous comment here is spoken by Troll Headhunters in WC3, even though they are Darkspear Trolls.
Angry Goblin LOL Vol'Jin followed him and his horde, he saved the m from the isles from sea witch and murlocs.
james Friend its like what europeans did to aztec people.
Angry Goblin ahahah true i hate blood elves
dat's why i hate da elves...
M. Darko All of them?
Helios1998HALO Well Night elves driven them from their sacred ground and High elves really hurt the troll kind, so yeah i think all of them.
Dimmu Popovič All elves are descendant of trolls.
Wait really? not just Night elves?
High elves are descendants of highborne, who were all night elves.
Still reference this video to this day.
this trailer has so many great quotes
Now everybody to the Zul"aman door! *just loot it ahahhah*
Fedora Power Ahhh, the old memories. "Guys how do we open the door?!"
It bothered me back in the day and still does. The druid in t4 with Earthwarden fighting without a form.
This is still the best patch trailer
Still my favorite trailer ever
Karazhan + Zul'aman was very good.. + much memories around that time...pfff its already much time ago :(
Still epic^^
this is one of the best trailers imo
Best patch trailer ever!
the most badass of all trolls
I hope they bring him back
+BigBadWolf Maybe... if one of the future expansions or even just patches would be about Zandalari again, I could see them ressurecting him. I mean, they brought back the Thunder King, surely they could do the same with Zul'jin, right?
+catxborsuq1 They cant.Zul'jin probably already came back to life as a new troll.Even if they ressurect him they will execute both Zul'jin and person who ressurected him. (Ressurecting trolls is a crime)
Zul'jin all but confirmed for Heroes of the Storm!
zul'jin actually confirmed for heroes of the storm!
man videos like this make me wish I actually played wow in highschool. I started in mop and actually regret not playing when i was younger to experience all the old raids and content. I think I might hate myself a little if I did though since highschool was a lot of fun at the time
gotta love the music
