The Temple of Karabor was the center of draenei worship until its priests were slaughtered by demonically corrupted orcs. In the massacre's aftermath the warlocks of The Shadow Council seized the structure and gave it a new name: The Black Temple.
When The Alliance invaded Draenor after The Second War, the orc shaman Ner'zhul hastily opened several dimensional portals in order to escape. The resulting magical backlash ripped the world apart. Drawn by these portals, the pit lord Magtheridon arrived in what had come to be known as Outland and took the temple as his seat of power.
His dominion over Outland remained unchallenged until the arrival of Illidan the Betrayer. The pit lord proved no match for the wielder of the Twin Blades of Azzinoth. Today Illidan occupies the temple, awaiting any and all who would challenge his rule. - Hry

Anyone sorta miss the old "evil dream team"? I thought Illidan, Vashj, kael and Akama was such a cool team. So fun in WC3 and BC.

Band of rejects/outcasts that are all very different/unique from one another is always cool, especially when they straddle the moral line. I like how these guys were like a greyer form of evil. They all had their personal motivations, which gave them more personailty than the stereotypical "Big Bad" persona.

considering the Draenei were in full Justicar armor, and using Hammers of the Naaru, I'd say they were closer to 70 than 30

These were the golden days of Wow.
Playing through BT solo right now, and I'm still amazed at the amount of work that went into designing this place (comparable with Blackrock Depths in vanilla). The attunement chain was epic too, as well as the trailer (they actually showed us what the temple looked like when it was still the Temple of Karabor, with the Den of Mortal Delights looking more like the Aldor Rise in Shattrath). Too bad that so few people could see it back in 2007 (and most of those who did only cared about loot).

We even swapped swapped sides between the oracles and the frenzyheart tribe, and, btw, didn't Vancleef formed the defias brotherhood after the nobles of stormwind refused to pay him for rebuilding stormwind?
Now that I think about it, I don't know how the "heroes of Azeroth" aren't sentenced to death already, we are a bunch of criminals xD

This is how you do patch trailers, not the way they do them now. Soulless and spoiling all the bosses before you even step into the raid.

Nope. The story makes a raid meaningfull to me, not the mindless action.
They suck in my opinion. I hate them for spoiling the bosses to me, so I never watch them, but in doing so miss out on the story in them untill after I've done the raid.

So nostalgic, this trailer was actually the first thing that made me interested in World of Warcraft.
Also to reunite with the trapped Horde and Alliance members after the Dark Portal was closed at the end of the Second War, and to make sure Illidan's Fel Orc army didn't invade first.
Also it was a war of conquest, especially for the Horde - regaining their lands in Nagrand and reuniting with the Mag'har was pretty important to them.

During this dark times the one called casuals made the game its home,
Then cam Warlords of Draenor....
The one which they called "The savior"
The expansion after this one,
And we thought we reclaimed our sacred ground
I think even then a part of me knew that WoW traded one casual Xpac for another,

I prefer to look back at an addon and see it in its entirety and looking back at expansions like MoP ( which i thought right of the bad was a good one). Only in the end one can truely say if an expansion was good or not ( or something in between)^^

Man,Blizzard announced that the Black Temple will be the Alliance capital city in WoD, but in it's prime when it was known as Karabor. Looking at the raid now and how large the place is with all those floors and large chambers, it'll really be interesting to see it as a city with proffession trainers, banks, AH, NPCs roaming around, etc. I just hope it wont be only half of the temple or some bullshit like that. Nobody wants another joke for a city like those tiny 8-room shrines in Pandaria
Can't wait to see how it looks in the glory days Akama spoke of, when it was a temple of worship and prosperity. I'm sure it'll look holy, draeneic, and gorgeous, but still have the familiarity of the BT we know today. So excited!
You can see Karabor in the announcement trailer, the part where those siege Gronns are firing upon a Draenei-looking city.
Tunnel Visionary According to a few sources, horde and alliance will actually have to liberate their capital city before being able to use it. So it's not just there, we actually have to _fight_ for it.
Also, apparently the Karabor alliance city in Draenor is MUCH bigger than the black Temple we know now. Lots more room for us. I know that Horde liberate Bladespire Keep from a clan of Ogres for their city which is also cool.
well that didn't happen, it's a shame really, I wish they went with their former plan to make Karabor the alliance city, that island we got now is really unimpressive and forgetable imo

Actualy not the orcs come... you (draenei) come on their lands...
The Draenei sought refuge on Draenor for millenia and were at peace with the orcs during that time. The orcs even originally taught the draenei about shamanism, regardless of what people say about Nobundo. So, the orcs didn't mind them at all. Quite the contrary. What caused problems was the fact that the orcs ended up corrupted by the Legion. And there you go.

he wasnt evil and he wasnt the betrayer if you know the whole story and think he still is you deeserve to be gagged and tied up and thrown in a river and left there to drown. He was betrayed and any smart person would know this if they know the story.

The funny thing about good and evil and who's right and who's wrong is that it's entirely and completely subjective. You don't get to decide. You're fine to believe they should read the lore and correct themselves. But not reading the lore and not correcting themselves doesn't lead to death, fortunately.

how do draenei become "the broken" and "the lost ones"
I tihnk it is because of the demonic influence and that they were so distant from their home planet
Broken are the Draenei who were left on Draenor and exposed to demonic magic, thus making them withered.
In the original lore before the retcons in TBC, the draenei originally looked how the broken look now.The blue space goats were not what they looked like
It is because of a plague that guldan spread among draenei.Eredar are the ones influenced by fel magic.I am not sure though

illidan did nothing wrong.
Raids took longer to complete back then, because they were bigger and generally more difficult then they are now. Also, im fairly certain the mount hyjal patch was released in that patch too (anyone who played can correct me if im wrong), so that was what, 14 bosses. In one patch? That was more bosses then were released on cata's release. They did release sunwell after that though, which most people didn't finish.

Raul Gonçalves I suggest you look up what "brilliant" means. WoW is neither fresh nor innovative anymore, and is merely a fading, dying star. Cataclysm wasn't a 'failure' in the sense that it still made them a ridiculous amount of money, however there was a significant dropoff of players during that time. If you want to look up which expansion 'killed the game,' the closest thing you will find is WotLK. Drastic PvE and PvP dynamic changes, massive class homogenization, and a new direction the game was taken in caused the eventual inevitability. Cataclysm is a favored scapegoat (mind you I haven't played since halfway through cata) but was a product of the new game direction brought to you by Wrath. Anyone who is going along raving about how much good Wrath did for the game need to be executed. You're just wrong.

***** Cataclysm was absolutely a failure. They were hemorrhaging subscribers and actually ended it an entire content patch sooner. There was supposed to be an old god raid between FL and Deathwing in the underwater zone but unfortunately with subs tanking they pulled the plug early. That's why the Deathwing raid seemed so rushed.
