I loove Divergent series, and the Grisha trilogy so much! I'm working my way thru the Throne of Glass series now with Heir of Fire. It's pretty slow but goddamn is it EPIC. I still need to finish TMI, TID, TDA, and I still need to read ACOMAF which I'm excited to. I need to read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom still lol. I LOVED An Ember in the Ashes, and I'm excited to read the sequel. I have all the Darkest Minds books, haven't started them yet, same with the Legend trilogy and the Lunar Chronicles -sigh- sooo behind
You need to catch up, xD... Read Infernal Devices cause it's a lot better than TMI...And Lady Midnight is better than all of them. Throne of Glass is fricking epic...Get through Heir of Fire and I promise you will not be disappointed. ACOMAF is the reason this series is even on the list...It is AMAZING...and way way way better than the first one. The Darkest Minds is also really really good, there's kids, they have super powers, chaos ensues...and it's awesome. Legend is one of those books that give continuous heart attacks with its non stop action xD... No words can describe the pure epicness of The Lunar Chronicles...You look at the covers and they don't scream 'Hey, this is an epic sci-fi book with cyborgs and spaceships and lunar people and an epic war'... but they are absolutley epic... You loved The Grisha Trilogy?? Six of Crows is way better, it is amazing...A million times better xD...
I'm sad that I'm so far behind but I'm glad that all those are going to be amazing books haha. I definitely will read Infernal Devices buuut I still want to read TMI. I'm planning on reading Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince, Clockwork Princess and then reading the last 3 TMI books so I don't get spoiled for the ending. I've got a looooong way to go. xD

Am I the only one who read The Infernal Devices after The Mortal Instruments (in my case after City of Lost Souls) and loved it even more than TMI? I didn't want to read City of Heavenly Fire because I missed the TID characters so much! (I still thought that City of Heavenly Fire was phenomenal, though.)
I don't like Throne of Glass, I've read the first 2 but decided to dnf it because everyone said it was so good and I felt that it's just mediocre like all YA series.
That book was soooooo sloooooow. But I loooove Rhysand and apparently he's mostly in ACOMAF and stupid Tamlin is barely in it so yay!! In case you haven't realized, I hate Tamlin with a passion
I really enjoyed the first two books actually and felt they had potential to go somewhere great, but I just really hated where the plot was going and gave up around the middle of the third book.

The series that saved me was The flowers in the attic series by VC Andrews. I read it when I was 15 and I was going through a tough time with bullying. It just made me feel that if they could endure through what happened to them then I could. Funny story about the series of unfortunate events: there was this guy I didn't get along with in my group of friends then I started reading series of unfortunate events, and found out he was reading the same. We bonded at least for a little while

I really need to read the Throne of Glass series. Every single booktuber I watch has it in their top ten. And oh my god, I relate to your Mortal Instruments experience So. Much. I was 15 when my family separated and my life sort of fell apart, and I refused to read at the time bc I thought it was really boring/lame, and these books literally turned my life around and got me back into reading.
I loved the Infernal Devices when I read them the first time. It's weird that I hear so many people say they hated them when they first read them. I'm glad you gave it a second chance though because it is such a well written series.
A Series of Unfortunate Events is the first series I read and got into too! Hush Hush was the first teen/YA series I ever read! I used to be obsessed with it and loved Patch so much when I was younger! :D
I read the infernal devices after reading TMI and I loved it! I've heard so many CZcamsrs talking about the infernal devices and telling that they didn't like it the first time because it wasn't The mortal instruments 😛 And I'm wondering...why? I mean, I love TMI it was actually the first book series I read and it has a special place in my heart, my first otp was Jace but when I read The infernal devices I loved it so much. even though I loved TMI and Jace, the infernal devices books have their own story with these amazing characters and this beautiful love triangle and it's just amazing....I love both TMI and TID and I will love them until I die and if there's a life after that, I'll love them still 😂

Omg I felt the exact same way about TID. I read it right after TMI and was like um no🙅🏼♀️ I have major issues with Tessa. Do not like her. Who can like a character who is coming between two best friends?? I loved will and jems bromance. I feel like I should reread it too. But I still remember my reasoning for disliking Tessa so I’m worried my opinion won’t change. Clockwork princess made me bawl my eyes out though!! TMI for life tho. The fearless rune was my first tattoo! And two other are Harry potters lol

OMG! We are literally the same when it came to the Infernal Devices. I read the Mortal Instruments first. I just finished City of Fallen Angels at the time and I was missing the characters, so I wanted to read another one of Cassandra Clare's book. I started reading Clockwork Angel. Boy... I hated it at the time. It was the same reason as your's. Jace wasn't there, for one, and then I thought all the characters were wanna-be-the-mortal-instruments-characters. So, I stopped reading it. I despised the book. Then, as I finished the last book of the Mortal Instruments, when the last one came out, I decided to try it one more time. I fell in LOVE with it. I couldn't put the books down. I grew so attached to the characters. I feel like I know them so well and that they are my whole world. I began to love Will better than Jace... I know I'm a traitor. JK, I love them equally and both series the same. But yeah, I could talk about those books all day. I still cry thinking about it. I love them so much. Same girl, same. If it was not for the Mortal Instruments, I don't think I would have been reading. I agree with this list. Wonderful video! New subbie!

I love the mortal instrument series so much so it was a disappointment when I couldn't get into the infernal devices. I want to read them so bad but something about that past era makes me go blah! I have tried twice to read them and couldn't get but a few chapters into it if even that. I feel so sad.
I still haven't read A Series of Unfortunate Events... I will probably never read twilight or hush hush but other than that every series on your list is on mine too!
I think I'm on the minority of not really liking the infernal devices. I was very bored during it and had to force myself to read it word for word instead of skimming it. but I did end up finishing it, it's written well just not my favorite.

I really need to read the Throne of Glass series. Every single booktuber I watch has it in their top ten. And oh my god, I relate to your Mortal Instruments experience So. Much. I was 15 when my family separated and my life sort of fell apart, and I refused to read at the time bc I thought it was really boring/lame, and these books literally turned my life around and got me back into reading.

I loved the Infernal Devices when I read them the first time. It's weird that I hear so many people say they hated them when they first read them. I'm glad you gave it a second chance though because it is such a well written series.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is the first series I read and got into too! Hush Hush was the first teen/YA series I ever read! I used to be obsessed with it and loved Patch so much when I was younger! :D

I read the infernal devices after reading TMI and I loved it! I've heard so many CZcamsrs talking about the infernal devices and telling that they didn't like it the first time because it wasn't The mortal instruments 😛 And I'm wondering...why? I mean, I love TMI it was actually the first book series I read and it has a special place in my heart, my first otp was Jace but when I read The infernal devices I loved it so much. even though I loved TMI and Jace, the infernal devices books have their own story with these amazing characters and this beautiful love triangle and it's just amazing....I love both TMI and TID and I will love them until I die and if there's a life after that, I'll love them still 😂

Omg I felt the exact same way about TID. I read it right after TMI and was like um no🙅🏼♀️ I have major issues with Tessa. Do not like her. Who can like a character who is coming between two best friends?? I loved will and jems bromance. I feel like I should reread it too. But I still remember my reasoning for disliking Tessa so I’m worried my opinion won’t change. Clockwork princess made me bawl my eyes out though!! TMI for life tho. The fearless rune was my first tattoo! And two other are Harry potters lol

OMG! We are literally the same when it came to the Infernal Devices. I read the Mortal Instruments first. I just finished City of Fallen Angels at the time and I was missing the characters, so I wanted to read another one of Cassandra Clare's book. I started reading Clockwork Angel. Boy... I hated it at the time. It was the same reason as your's. Jace wasn't there, for one, and then I thought all the characters were wanna-be-the-mortal-instruments-characters. So, I stopped reading it. I despised the book. Then, as I finished the last book of the Mortal Instruments, when the last one came out, I decided to try it one more time. I fell in LOVE with it. I couldn't put the books down. I grew so attached to the characters. I feel like I know them so well and that they are my whole world. I began to love Will better than Jace... I know I'm a traitor. JK, I love them equally and both series the same. But yeah, I could talk about those books all day. I still cry thinking about it. I love them so much.

I love the mortal instrument series so much so it was a disappointment when I couldn't get into the infernal devices. I want to read them so bad but something about that past era makes me go blah! I have tried twice to read them and couldn't get but a few chapters into it if even that. I feel so sad.

I think I'm on the minority of not really liking the infernal devices. I was very bored during it and had to force myself to read it word for word instead of skimming it. but I did end up finishing it, it's written well just not my favorite.
I went through the same thing when I was thirteen!!!
