If you have insulin resistance, your body doesn’t respond to insulin like it should. Insulin, a hormone made by your pancreas, regulates your blood glucose levels. And if your blood glucose (or blood sugar) levels become too high, it can lead to hyperglycemia or even prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes.

What does this video say it can be difficult to diagnose? It is incredibly simple to diagnose. You just need a simple blood test for fasting insulin and one for fasting glucose to calculate HOMA-IR. For more accuracy, there are other simple same-day tests that measure insulin response to glucose intake. High Tryg/HDL ratio also correlates to insulin resistance. Why does the Celeveland Clinic say this can be difficult to diagnose? It is almost as easy to diagnose as the common cold.

I believe they want to say is that people may have the insulin resistance but due to less knowledge they come to know about it a little later.

Most accurate one i think is HbA1C since it will shows how much glucose that attached to your Hemoglobin
Which will indicate your insulin performance

HbA1C and fasting glucose are not effective ways to diagnose insulin resistance because they measure glucose, not how much insulin is needed to keep glucose at a given level.
Fasting insulin and HOMA-IR are much better tools to diagnose insulin resistance. The best approx is to take a several-hour test at a lab where you drink sugar and measure the insulin response over several hours.

@@Ivana.0405 Recently I have learnt about HOMA IR test which is a much easier test as you have said.According to some HOMA IR CP (C-PEPTIDE) is a better test as the half life of C-PEPTIDE is more than that of Insulin.Your opinion is expected.

@@Z0FFY512 I am from the US. Dallas. And because we only use HbA1C we have 80 percent of our population with insulin resistance, mostly undiagnosed. That is precisely the point.

Exercise daily and have a clean diet . You can reverse it
